GMs now steal from you! :O

Who knows though. My guess would be that there is MUCH more to the story than what is there in the screenshot.

Possible example:

1. Guy steals gil from honest player through scam. Knowing he will get caught, and possibly have the gil taken from him, he asks friend to 'hold' the gil buy trading an item for it.... ie 1.9 mil for a hi potion.

Reasoning.. well a GM cant take gil from me if I dont have it right?

Wrong, I am assuming GM's can read /tell logs and can see this coming.

Nothing else makes sense, it couldnt be what it seems.... right?

Any idea what server this is, or odon I'd love to see the source, not cause I don't trust your or anything but because this is sad.

Very possible. It could also be that the "scammer" is a mule of the person being jailed and they simply "sent" the money to themselves. Either way, I have a hard time believing anything posted on allacrap.

Dunno what server its on, just reposting it from the BG forums.

Read the thread on it on alla, i'm pretty sure the pictures have been proven to be fake.

CSRs know what characters belong to what account. If you send a GM call on one character, then switch Characters, you will get your tell on that character as well.

Other forums are calling shennanigans on these pictures. That the player never mentions the item's name is highly suspicious. The whole conversation seems to be hiding key pieces of the topic that you'd expect player and GM to discuss.

If it even happened at ALL, it's just a typical soccer mom to-be trying to gain support from the online "**** the po-lice" mob. They most likely knew exactly what they did with their partner if this is even real.

Basically to simplify this even more, GM sees you as an account, calls are viewed as the account made the call, you cannot hide unless you go to another account entirely.

Regardless of what this GM says, I would follow up with another Sr. GM. The worst that can come up of it is he says your s.o.l. as well.

Who is in charge of the Sr. GMs. I would try to find out and contact them.

I guess it just depends on how much time you would invest trying to get the money back as oppossed to the time it took you to earn it in game.

Good luck man.

I would definitely check with another GM...in fact I'm tempted myself to contact one in game and just ask. It's really fishy and kinda makes me wonder how far they can track everything.

If it's a fake, then shame on the people who are trying to continue to make people hate the GMs. :(

The person who had the gil taken from her/him comitted something called "Conversion". In RL, there is no criminal penalty for this unless it can be proven that the person receiving the hot items/money was aware that they were aquired illegally. In a US court the end result would be the same: you must return the goods or money to the original rightful owner. However, you would also be able to seek restitution from the person who essentially defrauded you. The GM did not give this person any opportunity for restitution, which is patently wrong.

Above the Senoir GMs are Lead GMs that over see groups of GMs but are rarly seen in game. Above them are Producer or Head GMs which there are only two of one named Azagba and the other is SageSundi

that would suck though the question i would have to ask is how does the gm know that the funds that got stolen is the funds that the scammer gave to the item vender(the person who got fuk). the whole thing just does not add up. in order for this to happen the person who stole the money would have to turn around and sell the money withen minutes or else the gm would have said something to the person who stole the money not the person who sold the item.

I think this is a cry wolf
2x2 dont equall 6

ALL YOUR GILS ARE BELONG TO GM!

This was in the comments section of someone's LiveJournal.

ive heard that this is a very one sided representation made by this Jiraya guy. Apparently he was in on a scam with his friend, the GM had proof that he was in on it, and then returned the money without bothering to explain that he knew he was in on it, knowing that Jiraya would just deny it anyway. So don't jump to conclusions, just from Jiraya's immediate overboard indignation in his response, he sounds like he wasn't surprised this was happening at all, most likely because he was a guilty scammer.

It seems to me that GMs are typically powerless and never do anything so this would have to be pretty concrete to justify taking the gil by a lead GM no less. I can't think of a single reason they would take gil for personal reasons. They work for SE! I doubt they have equipment issues.

Just some thoughts

SageSundi is a Level 82 DRK 8)

And on topic, if those pics ARE real, a lot of people at SE need to be shot for letting the rules be like this.
