God hates ... Canada?

Ah, Fred Phelps... truly the gift that keeps on giving. I guess he's running out of American funerals to picket.
 
I always knew he had some kind of beef with us... became pretty obvious the day he gave Celine Dion a voice.

I often wonder if these people realize that they are doing nothing but making people reject their arguement, and therefore giving more validation to the otherside.

Sometimes, i think they may even be with the other side. They HAVE to know that people across america look at them the same way we see the *** and other hate organizations.
 
It's like I've often said -- and some of your more hard right-wing anti-gay folks agree -- if the gay rights movement didn't have the Fred Phelps klan, they'd almost have to invent them. They're repulsive to the point of caricature, and they create sympathy for us every time they open their stupid traps.

The people fighting to keep gay people from achieving true equality hate Phelps because they get lumped in with him (deservedly so, as far as I'm concerned) and discredited. I live in the Bible Belt and am very aware there are plenty of preachers out there who believe what Phelps believe; they just tend to be a little more polite about it.

It's the on-the-fence folks where Phelps is a godsend (pardon the pun) to the gay rights movement. The people who are uncomfortable with the thought of gay people will gladly distance themselves from that level of hatred. "At least I'm not that bad."

While I think Phelps and his family are vile creatures, a dark part of me also loves having them out there doing what they do. Sad, I know.
 
God wishes for us to love one another. Passing a law to prevent hate towards the gay community i think is more along the lines of God's intentions.

Being gay isn't against God. However, God dosn't exactly insist Gay people have sex. He's also against adultery, for reasons that support our mental and physical health. We have not followed Gods words, and we still don't pay mind to the aftermath as being the consenquence of disobedience. God said there would be disease, that of which does not originate from Gay sex, the disease will spread only through the infected, straight and Gay.

Another note. Just because one is Gay does not mean they take part in sexual acts with members of the same sex. God does not hate someone for being gay. I'm not even sure if God is capable of hating, as there is a difference between Hate, and dislike.
 
This guy is gunna have some shit on his hands soon.

For some reason, he came down here to Shreveport, LA with a bunch of his protestors protesting "God Hates Fags" or some shit during a funeral of a Marine that was killed in Iraq.

I don't know why he did this, but it is really disrespectful and someone needs to put him in his place.
