Wondering if anyone else plays the true gentleman's game around here, other than myself?

Just got in from playing 18, shot 75 (+4) on freshly sanded greens lol, so putting was impossible. 11/14 fairways hit, 11/18 greens hit, 33 total putts. Pretty solid round.

Do I play? Yes. Do I play well? Not at all.

Most people if they played as bad as me would be so pissed off, but I have learned to just go with it and have fun, so even though I shoot 110+, I couldn't be more relaxed and enjoying myself that much.

As a teenager you can imagine how pissed I used to get playing golf, lol. Learned to control myself and just have fun even if I'm playing like crap, and the game is just that much more appealing now ;D Hardest game on the planet to play, and I'll stick to that for the rest of time lol. I had my 2nd eagle ever last saturday, so I've been playing a whole lot since then lol, I was 158 yards out on the 18th hole and hit a perfect 7-iron, lost sight of the ball in the shadows on the green, got up there and there's my ball sitting in the bottom of the cup ;D

Pretty remarkable that it's only my 2nd eagle, since I'm such a long hitter lol, but it's just worked out that I've only ever had 1 other eagle, and that was a textbook par 5, Driver, 3 iron, 20foot putt for eagle.

Love the game.

Bought clubs...need to get around to learning how to play. >.>; There just aren't enough hours in the day. =(

However if my skills at sports in general end up working for me with golf too, I'm going to suck really bad once I do get started. XD

That is the biggest thing anyone should do playin' golf. I use to get so irritated back in the day but now that nothin' irritates me, on the course, it's 100 times more fun not to mention I seem to play better when I don't give a damn. Had my Dad not taught me this I'd probably have given up golf a long, long time ago.

I still whip a club every now and then lol, but that's usually if I'm playing really good, then do something REALLY stupid to fuck up a good round lol. Last weekend I was -3 going into the 14th hole and ended up shooting +2, boy was I pissed XD Gave one good sand wedge fling, but aside from that, took it like a champ and kept smiling.

I'm scared. <_<

Me too but as soon as I mash the club head in the ground I forget about it. Nothin' you can do after that except make up for it, ya know.

Real men play Kennedy Rules Golf.

All you need is a bottle of whiskey and some friends. Miss a putt you drink. Slice you drink. Hook you drink. You whiff the ball everyone drinks.

I looove Golf, but I have anger issues sometimes and break/throw things. I'd say I'm roughly a 15-18 handicap, even though I've been playing this god-forsaken game for about 11 years. Also:

That is my 8-Iron, which was accidentally run over while my cart went out of control going down a steep, wet hill. A hill that said "Do not drive on hill if wet". I bought the clubs a week before, and I was very unhappy.

Only clubs I've ever broken were on (stupid) shots I tried to make out of the trees, and busted it on the follow through, done that twice. XD that sucks Tim, lol

Edit: I'm a 4 handicap

I don't know what I'd do if one of my clubs broke. I'd probably flip my lid. I don't take unnecessary shots though. I'd rather lose a stroke or two than a grip of cash. Luckily I don't have to worry about it to often now-a-days since I've benched my driver.

I've benched my driver for now too. My reasoning, though, is that I've been playing a few par 3 courses exclusively to try and hone my wedge game.
