Good god Otakon 2009!

I've never been to a con either. Hmm.. It's in July and I checked my calender too.. looks like I would be working that weekend.. but, I'm sure I can manage the time off. My Dad lives in MD too.. so hurray, free lodging. I don't know yet though, so I'll have to wait to pre-register.
 
Everyone should fucking go. Last year was a blast, hanging around other Qcdners. ACCEPT YOUR INNER NERD. EMBRACE IT PEOPLE.

Hell, we could all gather after the Registration and go to the fucking aquarium. That place is awesome even though the clerks are assholes when it comes to taking Canadian Quarters.

Haha I wanted to try using Canadia quarters to make a souvenir penny at the Aquarium.
 
When I go this year I think I'mma pay in nothing but Canadian Quarters.

I will totally fucking do it too. And when they refuse it I'll throw a huge fit and it will end in me either being banned from there or getting in for free.
 
Only the biggest of nerds can get banned from anime conventions.
 
So how does it work? It's all weekend and you guys all get hotel rooms? I live in Ontario so it will be a hell of a ride down, but I think I'll be down for when I go next year. Myrrh, I know you live in Manitoba and I can see that being a bitch as well. Any other Canadians planning on going?

Last year my friends and I drove. Was a 26 hour drive there. This year we're flying.

I've researched into going to this and I'm trying to save up and what not, my flight from Pearson Airport is costing CDN$460 and lodging was costing me about 2-300 odd, It's really not that bad, add about 3-400 dollars(depending on you as a person and drinking/eating/spending habits) as spending money and it totals to around 1500 or so...which isn't really that bad ^^;

I'm still waiting though if anything I'll register late but I've read the site and have until 2nd of july which is still ok and I'll know by may/june if I'm allowed to go or not.

It would be fun, I'd really just like to go since I've never been either and I want to see more of America to be honest.

I might be driving too. If steven/nick/brendan come, that's my hotel room and gas covered.
 
If you're driving down then I'm using you as a Taxi.

Also, who is cosplaying this year? I am but I have like 3~6 ideas of what I want to cosplay as.
 
If I do decide to cosplay any, I'm gonna be a non-specific S.T.A.R.S. member.

I'm definitely avoiding Otakon at my own will then.

Cosplayers and Canadians are weird enough seperate. Mixing them together sounds like a terrible idea.
