good story

Hello! I am a 55whm/blm. I get an invite to a party that decides to go to Cape terrigan. We get there with a Drk Thf Whm Nin Rdm Blm Lv55-57. When we are there we fight some robber crabs...We kill them with no problem but then the leader wants to fight a pugil. He pulls the pugil and we begin to fight it. The rdm ends up dying and the thing is at half health. We raise the rdm and wait for weakness then begin to fight crabs again. We fight another pugil and this time the nin tank dies and we zone....The party leader is mad at me cause i had 500mp+ and thought i could of saved the tank when i was healing someone else that was about to die. He says that he is going to replace me and i say fine but let me level at least cause im 1.8k tnl...He says,"Fine." We go fight again...kill some crabs here and there..the leader which is the thf pulls another pugil and we begin to fight it...We get the pugil to about a quater of health left while i have 57hp and 100mp left..The nin decides to piss it away and use 2hr..This does not help at all..I end up dying as well cause the pugil came after me after nin died. I die and the pt kills it.. By this time the replacement whm is there and raises us. I asked the party leader if i can still get my level.. He says No and that everyone is wasting money on the food they are using because we cannot go through a few kills. At this time im reallly really furious but why stay when they blame it on me? So i just warp and that ends this story.. Do you think that was right what the leader Maseki did? :?: :?: :?: Please respond
 
Zafothetaru :lol: .......the pt should have told the leader to stop pulling shit that the pt couldn't kill easily. I mean GD you guys were lvl 55-57.....not your fault at all dude, And i mean lets go back to our valkhurm lessons here. Some pugs are bad ass mofo's! If a puller can't learn the first time someone dies....then he ain't gonna learn (unless someone points it out to him/her). 200 xp at your lvl isn't worth dying for!! Again not your fault.
 
I'd like to hear Maseki's side of the story on this incident. I know him very well. He has a lvl 75 Drg among other jobs, and I've seen him pull many a mob. He's definitely not a n00b.

Anywayyyy, I'll definitely be chattin' with him about this ingame.

It could have been that he had higher expectations of his group... I don't blame him for trying but after the first death, he shouldn't have gone for more.

Also, Screwdriver SUCKS! :(
 
True that ... anyway, I sent a message to Mas with the link. Hope he can come and clarify some of this stuff.

Btw, I'm not positive cuz it's been a good 20 levels, but I could swear we were doin' pugs at that level. Mebbe I'm wrong though.
 
Well, looks like I posted on the wrong thread, so here it is again:

I agree with Spalko, a leader is not just someone who puts the party together, he has to... well, lead!

That means decide on prey and strategy, but also keep everyone's spirit up and try to ensure everyone has a good time. Obviously, your leader was a selfish prick who only wanted to push the exp more and more, with no regards to the other's life, as well as not carring if everyone was having a good time or not.

After one pugil.... lesson should have been learned.
 
Maseki did this? hmm.. I take it the NIN tank was Genna... interesting..

Double Double, Screwdriver = Dead Ninja... And it hapens all the f'ing time.. I swear the Terrigan Pugils just ignore debuffs.. Slow? HAHAHAHA! wtf ever... Paralyze? Sure...riiiight....
 
I know my static went to Cape Terrigan at 54-55 and we fought Robber crabs....at 56 we started to take puglis...HOWEVER....we had a PLD tank who kicks ass and out set-up was much different. We had PLD, WHM, RDM, BLM, RNG, RNG. I have definately seen parties die out there from thinking they can fight a Pug...but, alas, they are all assholes!

Anyway...in regards to your story...I think it sucks that people died and being a WHM myself, I always think people think its my fault when someone dies...even it was a mistake. :oops:

Some people just get along with others and play similiar ways...apparently you and Maseki don't have similiar playing styles. Its ok. :)

It sucks that you didn't get your level and it sucks that they just didn't stick with Crabs, cause if I remember correctly at 56 they are still pretty good XP.... I dunno. :?

Where in the hell have all the good parties gone to? Influx of kooks. I haven't got one in weeks. Always people stoked about getting a chain #2. Pisses me off. I usually make my own but I haven't been up to it lately. Time to start making my own again I guess.
 
I partied in Cape Terrigan with Maseki & Genna just friday night. I couldn't stay long (problems at home). I don't recall having any problems with them...and we were taking crabs, pugils AND Velociraptors.

I had to make some adjustments as I'm the blm in Jewellee's static party (see above) so I'm used to a PLD hate keeper and RARELY pull hate. We had no deaths at all while I partied with them...In fact...we all had a good laugh when one of the party members says to me.."Kiere..you do know that fragmentation is thunder burst right?" LMAO...i had been trying to burst with Stone. I explained to them I was so sorry but that my husband and I were in the middle of a huge argument and that I was trying to find them a replacement.
 
yes i would like to throw in my 2 cents...

Hi everyone, thank you Kat for bringing this to my attention. I would like to clarify the fact that barwatera (which we were not getting) helps immensely for AoE water attacks, and also every party member was in yellow constantly. Also id like to mention that you had 350mp when the tank died, and was in red almost a full minute before she died. That's why i asked if you were tired because i didnt think any whm above 50 would have let this happen. If you would like to speak with the other members of the party regarding this you may. They also agreed you just werent getting the job done. The whm who had come to replace you did a fine job, we were chaining crabs and pugs for the next 3-4 hours. Everyone has an off day, i would NEVER say you were a bad whm... perhaps you had other things on your mind or whatnot, im not sure. But please dont take it personally. I look forward to seeing all of you in Quezacoatl. :)

Bah my pt sucked last night and the crappy rng aggroed a big bird, which with our pt we could not handle (I dont want to imagine trying to hit Simurgh) with its config. And landed the pld dead, and the whm tried to keep him alive instead of zoning which landed him dead too. (Good thing I didn't zone, pulled it back out and hid so that it wouldnt walk slowly out and kill everyone)
Anyways when we left I made the best of it and skilled up with 3 more people and learned Slug Shot. Hehe I kept thinking I'd never get it but at some point i note i have 300 tp and shot 1 more bolt then it said i learned it so i kept quiet. Then after some odd GSWD skill i slugged for 450 dmg on a kuftal robber ^^. They were like wtf? Oh yeah guys i learned my ws ^^ Made 1k exp with em too

Hmmm hows would a THF60/RNG30 hold up in ballista vs like a taru blm or something? SA, hide run up to them smack em then slug, barrage..... They'd -ga away my Copy images as a /nin anyways.

I need to catch up with my RNG damnit. What level is shadowbind?
The only problem is that cyclone rules in Ballista. I've haven't done the matches above 50 cap so I don't know how well Slug Shot works.
