Good times for you!

I've noticed you are really whining more then usual. <_<;

But feel free to share what it is you would do with this thread then. I really do wanna hear what would be considered "decent" moderation then.

Leaving it where it was maybe? You move things to the FB AFTER they've devolved, not in anticipation.

And I'm only whiny when I see shitty things happening with a forum I've been a member of for 4 years. I did it when Sculli shat the place up, I did it when Elei was off doing as he pleased, and I'm doing it now, when shitty moderation is being put forth by people too lazy to do their jobs correctly.

Hey, can I ask an honest question? >.>

I'm so pure white, and literally have never interacted with an African-American (I grew up in a small northern town)
But why exactly -is- the N-Word so offensive? All I see it as, is that it means "black person." Are white people supposed to get offended when we're called Crackers (or whatever we're called)?

(and one thing, more unrelated, how it's okay for a black to call a black the n-word, but heaven forbid a white person say it [this is not so, I'm sure, in all cases, just something I find curious) Racism is really an...odd thing. I don't understand it, but I've never been exposed to it :|

Shut up Whitey.

Doesn't feel so good does it?

Most of the threads on this post were already on their way to turning it into a flame. Was I supposed to delete them and either warn or ban the people who said something negative? How is that lazy? If I were to warn -> ban -> permaban every person who even remotely flamebaited, then this board would really be hurting for members.

I guess the same reason why swears are offensive to some people. It's their lifestyle backround and the definition people make it that some people find it offensive.

Thats the issue. If you don't see people flamebaiting, then there's nothing wrong with the thread. And if you do, then its your job to enforce the rules. I saw maybe one or two posts that could really be negative (Other than Gunnerx being an idiot) so you decide to jump the gun and move the thread here, where it WILL get derailed into somthing negative, much like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

And you move THIS thread because of "some negativity" but a week ago you just decided not to do anything about the GREATER level of negativity in the "new tank" thread, and left it for so long that you decided to up and ban someone, which only got to that point because you didn't do your job (and it was a weak justification at best)

Seriously, there are some good mods. But then there's a few of you who just plain SUCK.

I think of swears differently....
Hm :/
So yeah, just depends on the person, obviously...

Reminds me of that episode of the Boondocks I just saw this monday!

The whole point of Jamal leaving is based off of a simple matter in common sense.

You shouldn't have to be told that the N-word is going to irk people. The internet doesn't give you free reign to say whatever you want, despite what you hear moronic little kids saying over xbox live.

So I guess again, I have to ask. Do you expect us to fully punish anyone who remotely flamebaits? Follow the rules as black and white? What if some of us don't have the time to fully read a 40 page thread and just go by reports? I personally don't think we suck, I just think people forget that there really are two types of people when it comes to derailing and flamebaiting: Those who have, and those who will.

And as for moving this, he had it in the wrong place anyways. Good times board is, "The whole purpose of Good Times is to share our accomplishments, within the game, with those of the community."

So since he just broke the rules should I be sending him a warning because the good times thread was not regarding something within the game? According to what you are saying, yes I should. If I didn't, it would be considered shitty modding...am I right to believe this?

No, the Bill of Rights does that.

And here I thought I was just trying to lighten the mood. Really now, anyone up for some Caturday?

They'll spin it on you Miros. They always do.

...and Arc, please don't. lol

*sigh* You don't get it, but then I didn't quite expect you to either. You need consistency, and that needs to be grounded in both the rules and an understanding of the users.

Then you shouldn't be moderators. I have time to keep up to date on every thread in all the major boards, and it only takes about an hour or so. And you have the advantage of the reposts system, which points you towards threads you should be reading, so it should be even FASTER than that.

If you don't have time to read the boards you moderate, you shouldn't be moderating them.

Wow way to move this.

But I hate Jamal. There isnt one person that I hate more than Jamal. I mean look at him!!! Hes a piece of shit. Brings nothing to any conversation. Is so elitist. Sucks balls in back alleys. He just isnt worth a dime if you ask me.

He is what the 2 girls ate out of the cup.

I completely agree with you on the consistency fact. Problem is, there's so many rules being jumbled around right now that we aren't exactly sure how to treat most of them. Each mod is different and enforces their way differently. This is an issue that we are looking into. It's hopefully going to be resolved with the infractions system when it is perfected and put into place.

And just so you know, I am sincerely attempting to figure out what people want to see with moderation. I'm not just trying to sound like a wiseass.

I feel sorry for the mods having to read ALL this crap everyday. Glad I can pick and choose.

Me too. I'd hate to see this everyday when I log in...
