Apparantly there are a few people who aren't aware of my motives for quitting, so I'll explain a little better.
Most recently (christmas to be exact) a friend of mine asked me "If I were to get you Dark Age of Camelot, would you play it?"
I answered, I don't know.
It had been a while since I played the game, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave FFXI behind. After a lot of thought however, I realized how sick I had become of how some of the players of this game (far too many if you ask me) treated others. That's not even to mention some of the very obvious, not remotely fun, timesinks that SE has included in this game that are what I consider poor excuses to extend gameplay and line their pockets with money (playing them off as unique aspects of gameplay).
The pettyness, drama, greed, etc. All things that have bothered me and were doing so even more lately. The Auction house is way out of wack, seeking for a party is unbearable, and soloing is more difficult than ever.
So, I ultimately decided that I was going to quit FFXI, use my christmas money to buy more RAM for my computer, then play DAOC with my friend.
So, I'm more or less letting my account lapse, unless it doesn't do so automatically in which case I'll cancel the account myself.
I won't however be deleting my characters, so if for some reason DAOC doesn't work out I do have the option of coming back. I have a feeling, though, that DAOC is going to work out just fine.
I'll keep in contact though, hanging out on QCDN and my different LS boards, as well as keeping up with FFXI news. Friends are friends, regardless of medium. I can't leave ya'll behind completely
Edit: I'd also like to add... <3uSabs!
