Comic explaining what their browser does different

Link to download

So, if you're too lazy to click. Google Chrome is Google's own web browser. Toying around with it right now, the interface is very clean. Web pages do load a bit faster, but nothing worth bragging about. The real thing that sets it apart is it's tabbed browsing, loading multiple pages at once causes no noticeable slow down for them all.

I'd like to recommend this web browser to Hellstorm, as it has a built in spell checker.

Also, something I just noticed, downloads no longer pop up in their own window, but appear in a bar on the bottom of whatever tab you've started it under.

Firefox has an add on to do that too >.>

I'll try this out though, the tabbed stuff seems interesting

It's kind of interesting, although I miss having just one button for my bookmarks. Now, I have to leave up another bar to have easy access to them.

Testing it out right now. I really like the way it handles tabs, which I use extensively during work. It is missing some things I really like from firefox though so for now it might be a work-only browser, but I do like it so far.

Waiting for FF4. Gmail and Googletalk is enough Google for me, they seem to be doing the Microsoft approach of trying to take over by geting people to use GoogleEverything.

I found it pleasing and it loaded some stuff faster than Firefox for the most part. I have yet to do some really crazy speed tests but eh.

I'll stick to my Firefox because I hate change and I've been supporting Firefox for a very long time.

That refresh and star icon look similar to anyone? Oh wait they look identical to firefox, only the that star is on the right of the address bar not the left.

Don't those arrow icons look familiar to anyone?

Also, Internet Explorer had been using a Star icon for bookmark related actions for as long as I can remember.

I miss Adblock Plus and No Script from Fire Fox, but I have noticed that load times are better than Internet Explorer, and Firefox on some webpages.

The only complaint I have is my scroll wheel isn't working on Chrome to go up, but is working to go down. A tad annoying, but nothing to really complain about.

My wheel works fine, however, the actual button doesn't. I prefer dragging to scroll through pages instead of using the wheel :(

Reminds me of Opera lol... eats up alot of resources...

On the contrary...

All with just one tab open, on this thread. Immediately after a cold start up with a copy > paste of this link...

Compare the numbers.

It's more of a feature than anything, each tab is a new process, meaning that things won't interfere with each other, (Aka: A page with a ton of javascript or moving images/videos will only lag its own page up, not the entire browser) also if your machine is dual core, even if one page goes amok and eats up 100% resources, the other tabs will work fine, and if something goes wrong, only one tab needs to crash.

On that note, there is some overhead in having multiple processes, so it's not 100% win/win, so this is one of those things that time will tell, but considering the trend to increase the number of cores on household computers, this is likely to be the "new thing" in browsers.

For some reason i don't think Google will allow as many plugins as firefox does. Pop up blocking, Adblock, Noscript all block the ads that Google makes its money off of. You can also count on google using the browser to track you over the Internet just like google affiliated sites do. I love google and have been a loyal user of their products over the years but I am going to wait a while before downloading this. People seem to forget sometimes that google isn't a search company, nor are they a software company, at their heart they are the worlds largest ad agency and your information is the source of all their revenue.

Adobe Flashplayer doesn't seem to be working when I use Chrome. Anyone with any ideas to remedy this?

What version of Flash Player are you running? Haven't had any problems with the most recent version.

Also another problem like missing middle mouse button functionality, is the inability to drag highlighted text around.
