why were you going to japan?
Why isn't he? Why aren't we all? That's the better question.
Because despite what Otaku believe, it's not the land of milk and honey. You'll be treated like the plague and everyone will avoid you just because you're foreign, unless you're a global superstar. Japan is a shithole to be in unless you're a citizen there, and you can only be a citizen if you're actually born Japanese, otherwise you still have to carry a humiliating form of ID dubbed the Gaijin Card, even if you live there legally.
i think this is the first time in recorded history where a nation has attacked another nation and not even a century later theres people who drool at even the mention of the offending nation.

wikipedia said:Naturalization
The Minister of Justice must approve all applications for naturalization. Review of an application generally takes about one year.
The criteria for naturalization are provided in Article 5 of the Nationality Act:
1. Continuous residence in Japan for five years or more
2. At least 20 years old and otherwise legally competent
3. History of good behavior generally, and no past history of seditious behavior
4. Sufficient capital or skills, either personally or within family, to support oneself
5. Stateless or willing to renounce foreign citizenship
The Minister of Justice may waive the age and residence requirements if the applicant has a special relationship to Japan (for example, a Japanese parent).
The Nationality Act also provides that the Diet of Japan may confer Japanese nationality by special resolution to a person who has provided extraordinary service to Japan. However, this provision has never been invoked.
For many years naturalized citizens were required to adopt a Japanese family name. This requirement was abolished in the late 1980s. A well-known example of someone who did not adopt a Japanese name is Masayoshi Son, the wealthiest man in Japan as of 2007, who naturalized using his Korean family name rather than the Japanese family name he used during his youth.
Japanese restaurants in Japan will be very different and SO MUCH BETTER than most anything here in the US. The exception might be Hawaii.I'd still go to japan, not drooling over it but, it looks like itd be a very intresting place to visit, lots of cool stuff to see, and lots of good food to eat.
mmmmmm sushi, tho with my personal experiance with japanese resturaunts in america, i've found that
Korean sushi > Japanese sushi anyday. tho I'm sure an American Japanese restaurant isnt a very good representation of a real Japanese restaurant in japan.
oh and who could forget the karaoke!? I've heard they love karaoke over there, and dont mind if you suck at it! XD
I love to go see Europe to tho, Italy, Germany, GB, Amsterdam, France. And then after Europe and Japan, its Australia! Gotta love those Australian women!=) Anyone want me to bring back some Vegemite?
