and everything came alright, but the psp itself when i turn it on has a little blue dot on the side of the screen

reason to be concerned?

Dead pixel probably.

If it is just one pixel then yeah. I think you have to have 3 or 5 dead pixels, when new, before it can be returned. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Certainly something you can look into.

After awhile, you barely notice them. Mine has a couple; I probably could've returned it at the time, but it seemed pretty minor.

It's not a bad time to have a PSP. This past year has brought a decent software library. I no longer regret buying the thing.

ok cool, if its just a minor thing i wont bother

i bought like 5 games with it, final fantasy 1, 2 and tactics, lumines 2 and ulitmate gouls and ghosts

and i got the daxter bundle so i got daxter anda family guy umd too so im pumped =) gonna play it all night tonight after work XD

Eh, I myself would return it because I have a tendency to harp on shit like that. I want my screen to be perfect. Most people, like Hali said, won't even notice after a short period of time. Yes, I know I have issues lol

Hali, you said you got Monster Hunter Freedom 2 right? :P (Or whatever) would you recommend getting it?

I'd recommend renting it or otherwise trying it out first. The game could almost be called Notorious Monster Hunter since it seems like Final Fantasy XI boiled down to crafting, harvesting, mining and hunting. You don't actually level up, but the stuff you acquire through your hunts is used to make better weapons and armor.

The game is pretty difficult. There's no lock-on, so your combat against the monsters is completely skill-based, centered on how quickly you can learn their attack patterns and movements to get your ass out of the way.

It's a gorgeous game and has a lot to offer timewise -- some of the message board posts I've read have basically said "You just have to accept that you're not getting good armor until about 60 hours in." -- but could just as easily be viewed as nerve-destroyingly tedious.

After getting a taste of it on the PSP, I'm kinda looking forward to the Wii version. I imagine teaming up with other players over WiFi Connection would make for a better experience.

Definitely give it a try if you can, but this is too much of a niche title for me to recommend it without reservation.

ah, hehe. It sounds like a game I'd enjoy :P I like games like this. And you say a version is coming out for the Wii? Done right that sounds like it could really pwn :D

Yeah, Monster Hunter 3 is coming to the Wii. The Sony fanboys started slitting their wrists when the PS3 version was canned.

There's supposed to be a program or something you can use to trick your PSP into thinking it's playing Infrastructure mode so you can team up with other hunters via the Internet, but I haven't explored that option.

White is usually a dead pixel. Blue may be just a frozen one. There are things you can download to fix it. It is usually just a video that flashes your screen a shit load of different colors.

I went through about 5 PSP's when I bought mine from best buy for just that issue. Each one I bought seemed to have 4-5 dead pixels on the screen. I think it is 3+ will warrant you a new one. But usually you can return it within 14days or however long for them to replace it.

I sold my PSP before last summer, and I was wanting to get another, or a DS. Anyone have an opinion to which I should get? I'd like to play FF 1&2 + Tactics, along with all the movies on there. So I'm really turning to the new slim PSP. Anyone?

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is a badass game. I recommend it but it does take some dedication to get anywhere with it. I wanted to buy FFI and FFII but I can't justify rebuying these games every time they are remade. I would have been sold if they were packaged together for $40 but I can't get myself to buy them separately for $60.

a. where do i download this thing to fix it?

b. i have the slim psp, ive handled the older model before and i do agree that it does feel alot lighter, the umd door isnt button activaded anymore and the memory stick duo slot is different, flimsy but if handled right its not a problem it is significantly lighter tho

i downloaded a pixel fixer video for my psp and am running it on loop now, hopefully it'll fix it =)

I ordered FFI/II PSP last week from Gamestop.com, they were selling each for 19.99, but of course they are back to $29.99 ;-;, ah well, glad I got mine when I did, they just came in the mail today too. FFT was going for 29.99 also, but I picked that up when I bought the PSP heh.

But yeah, I bought my PSP a month or so ago(and Wii Monday(but that's another story)) and I'm loving it, I'm always usually a late adopter to consoles/handhelds, and when I get around to buying them they usually have titles I want. Have FFT:TLW, FFI, FFII, Ratchet and Clank: SM atm, and got the Daxter bundle so have that as well.

Waiting on Wild ARMS:XF, and FFVII: CC, among other titles, so I'm glad I did pick one up finally. The PSP Slim & Lite is one sexy handheld(I love my DS too though).

Get that shit fixed and mod the hell out of that thing!!!!!!! Homebrew is your friend.

If it's showing color, it might not be dead, but stuck. Look up some corrective videos/animated gifts and run them on your PSP to see if it fixes the issue. If not, then the red and green subpixles are most definitely defective.

Infact, here's one specifically for the PSP

Off topic, but there wouldn't happen to be something similar for HDTVs? My new TV has a red pixel near the center (less noticable because it lands right on my hat in FFXI, but I'd still like it gone).
