Graphics Comparison Xbox 360 vs PS3

Dont think i ever said HD makes you play better... It does make it look a hell of a lot better. Its not just some smudges cleared up for minimal clearity. I used lost planet. If you play the game in HD it has some amazing clearity, like entering the caves in one of the maps. There are like 200 flying things inside all going nuts, great detailed caves, and in the back the enemies are still being produced through those red things. Through this art of the game is when i noticed how incredible HD was. It has happened to me in several more games now but i just used one example. Would HD improve you skill in a game, No. Would it improve your experience, Yes. And you can argue for days how it wouldnt improve it for you, but if you had the HD tv you wouldnt complain about it?

For example.. Lost Planet MUST be played in HD.. i just dont think you could see half the things on screen without it.
From this post, you'd only see half the stuff in SD, so you'd be able to see more in HD; meaning you'd avoid attacks or know what to kill easier, meaning you're playing better.

Your eyesight really sucks if you can't play a game in SD.

It's not that I cannot see things, it's just that after starting to actually program games you're much more critical about everything. And I'd probably actually gripe about the downgrade in appearance if someone was nearby. When I watch Willian play FFXI I always make comments that he's playing on a SNES because I'm so used to playing with modified registry settings. Hell, the game looks like ass when I'm playing it in class, too.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to play games in the best graphics you can get, but saying they're required to be the best possible and acting like you physically can't play them otherwise is dumb.

Well part of the cash you're paying for a high def system and the high def games goes into giving it the ability to output in high def. It's fine if you don't care personally, just saying for some people it's part of the motivation for being willing to spend hundreds of dollars on the hardware.

Kind of like buying blu-ray movies to play on a standard def TV. Yeah, you can do it, but it'd be a few bucks cheaper to buy a DVD and a hell of a lot cheaper to buy a DVD player. You're not really seeing everything you're sinking your cash into.

And this is really pretty pointless to add. If you have a HDTV already, play games on it, I never said otherwise. What I said was, it's stupid to think that you have to play the games in HD. If you were going to spend hundreds/thousands on a HD setup, you'd be retarded to not actually use it; but it's not a requirement at all to actually enjoy or even play a game.

Baj you are looking too hard. Dude i just mean the clearity is amazing on HD. And i know for a fact when you switch to SD you cant see everything as clear, dur thats why HD is HD... I didnt mean actual in your face action was not seen on SD. I mean the little things, like background detail, particle effects, enemies in far distance and things like this. Sorry to make it seem other wise to you.

Oh, then we completely agree.

You're still going to see same things at the same distance on an SD TV.

Why do people think you won't?

If your TV is tiny, sure, you won't make it out. But outside of the size of the screen, it's not going to alter draw distance.

If you don't think HD is a drastic improvement in detail over SD then you're fucking retarded, but I think we've already established that. He's not saying you cannot see things in the distance on the screen. He's saying the detail of someone further back in HD looks several times better than that of SD.

sport's games suck D: wanna play a sport? go outside :P better graphics and controls

though, seems they are having difficulties to program games into PS3 which would make sense I'd think.. considering it runs differently than a 360 o.o

Doesn't look any better than even Gears of War to me. The graphics are so similar on the two systems, it's hard to make a winning argument for either. I still don't think they've reached the highest graphics potential for either system.
