i can only imagine that there is no way to fix this issue without updating or rolling back drivers, but i thought i would ask the populous that has had or does have a laptop with ffxi.

first off, i just got an acer laptop. unfortunately with vista. but anywho..it opens ffxi just fine in full screen mode. however, for the images that have any kind of movement to them, it shows them in digital form i guess you could say. mostly black throughout all PC char and NPC characters. very little of the actual char model comes through other than the "blocky/triangular" shapes that form the curvature of all moving items on the screen.

all in all, im having graphics issues with this laptop. obviously, this laptop doesnt have a high end vid card, but i was hoping to be able to at least play ffxi on it, which i know doesnt require an intensive setup to play. according to the specs, it has a mobile intel graphics media accelerator x3100 (256mb). just by that, i can tell its a generic video out, dont know if anyone has had this issue and was able to bypass it somehow.

so, all thoughts are welcome. do tell if you have figured it out

If your graphic card is intergrated, is usually not runable in FFXI, because is just isn't enough power to render everything, even ffxi log is graphic base (you can tell if you have windower, you purposely resize the game, and resize it back to normal, everything will be blurry including text log)

Anyway, Cmdrfly will know more about it so...

I believe your best recourse is to check out the integrated card 'fixes' over at www.windower.net. You would have to use the windower, but I think Windower 3.2+ was able emulate something most integrated cards lack -- I just can't remember what it is.

actually,i fixed it. i just ran the software for the integrated vid to install the drivers. in this case, it would install the original drivers that were on the laptop before any driver updates. now i have all graphics showing as they should
