you can put your setting back to normal useing the ffxi config utility.

I'm thinking that everyone who does this just needs to go and invest in a 7800 GTX card or 2. I've compared my PC to the 360 version and they are practically identical. Put the AA at 8xS and the Anisotropic filtering at 16x and FFXI looks badass. Add in the clip plane extender from the windower and you can't tell the difference between the 360 and my PC. The only problem I have is PoL loads up slow sometimes, but that is no big deal.

AA is pretty much disabled in FFXI and is very hard to get true AA, most of the time it's just overlayed blur on the edges of textures from 3rd party programs.

Yeah Blabj pretty much got it right. Windower is truly a great program though, like I said before if you know about how to do the plug ins, mainly though force your cards to run at certain specs. Do not let the app control anything dealing with the graphics, and your game will look a lot nicer. Like I said previously though, sometimes PoL loads up slow because of my settings. Once I'm in game though it looks pretty sweet.

best thing for this sort of thing is this

I Used this program, It made a huge diffrence in the graphics but it caused FFXI to crash often... I think it was probably because my Video Card couldn't handle the settings I had it at but I'm not sure, It would just crash right to POL... What do you guys think....

even on the low settings?

Yeah, I only have a Nvida MX440 I don't understand what went wrong, I thought if I had the settings set to high it would cause clipping and poor frame rates and everything... It's very weird the game ran normal on Medium and low but yet all of a sudden I'd just get booted, I couldn't reset it back to the original settings so I uninstalled and re-installed and it seems to be working fine...

The Nvidia MX serie have never been the most popular... or maybe it was MMX... cant remember.
I had a MX card once, and it cause nothing but problems. Would crash outta every game after 20 mins because it either got too hot (without being overcloked) or just wouldent run it...

So if I'm right about the MX serie, you should consider finding another graphic card.
