I'm supposed to harvest in 20 mins, but noooo... SE just decides to FREAKIN MAINTENCE THEIR PIECE OF SHIT SERVER wich should have been maintenced AGES ago.

I think its pretty stupid flaming SE when they don't really look on qcdn.
 
Well, SE did give notice of this maintance. Maybe you should flame yourself for not planning accordingly.

From what I know, I never saw anything about a maintence, when I planted theese, around 3-4 weeks ago.
 
Did you have to harvest them in exactly 20 mins? Will you et worse results in 4 more hrs?

And they don't freeze this kind of thing when server resets? Thats just poor planning by SE :(

This is exactly why I retired from gardening ores. Game revolves around RL, not vice versa.
 
And here we have another case of people being 'screwed out of 1+ million gil because of maintainance.' Well guess what, gardening isn't 100% garunteed, stuff like this can happen. When you plant those seeds, you're taking a chance that FFXI won't be down the hour you need to harvest them. The bigger the batch you plant, the bigger the risk you take, since you have no idea what the condition of the servers will be weeks from then. And that's not to mention the chance at your internet being down, wife wanting to go out to dinner (Sorry honey, but I've gotta harvest my digital plants), or dozens of other things that could prevent you from getting on FFXI at the time of optimum harvest.
 
HOnestly then why not quit? In all seriouslness SE doesnt really give a fuck you, just your money. If you keep playing they will keep on doing maintenece and pissing you off. They will keep on getting money and you will keep on gettin pissed. You lose, they win.

If he is doiong elemental ore he has at least 24 hours (that is over 3 atempts maybe 4 depending on the timing) If you are waiting for a certain day which I assume you are.

everyone said do ores when it first came out but i could never do that

even growing nfire crystalys when i was a noob, i never could get that timing right either cuz i just couldnt get my life to revolve around FFXI, with school and other activities and going out with friends.

its jus too stressful to garden
 
You know this is why they give hints about a big maintainance weeks/a month in advance right? It's not their fault you decided to proceed gardening right up until maintenance day. Good job, shitforbrains.

Also, compaired to other games SE does a hell of a lot better job maintaining their servers. I don't see how anyone could classify them as "pieces of shit" compaired....

Like already said, its hard to time the gardening for a specific time to harvest them.
The plants will be ready to harvest whenever they do. If I plant seeds tomorrow, and SE decides to pull another maintence the day after tomorrow, and it just happens to be on the day I need to harvest, then what the fuck can I do?

When they start announcing new things implemented in the game, it's safe to assume a patch is ~1 month away.

Then they usually give out an official notice 1-2 weeks from the date.
 
Ofcourse, theres also the fact that gardening is as much of a gamble as camping NMs. When they hold maintenance and servers go down right before a NM pops or you're in the middle of a fight, you don't see people coming on bitching that SE cost them Ochiudo's.

Yes, very true. Gardening is a gamble and have lots of risks. I learned that a few months back, where I lost 1M worth of gardening, because lightning fried my PSU.

However, Gardening and camping NM's cant really be compared with the risks of maintence. NM's spawn every 1-3 hour or whatever your camping. HNM's every 21-24 hours. With NM's, you always have a 2nd chance, since they will just repop. And if you dont claim it, you dont lose 1M+ from it.

It might be easy to assume a patch is 1 month away or just about that, when they announce new things. But timing gardening with a guessed maintence day, is not exactly easy.

Theres not a damn thing I can do about it. But its a kinda good enough reason to be a lil pissed about it.


And becides, this is the flameboard. From what I've seen, this is where people flame others, nomatter who and where.
