Jesus Christ, this is why I've waited to get my rank missions/ZMs done. Every time I see someone with rank 9/10 and their first job isn't above 65, let alone 60, you have to wonder who dragged their worthless characters through the missions. It's one of the main reasons I don't consider rank as a factor when I'm scanning my party list anymore, there's a growing (and I mean VASTLY growing) number of rank 7-10 dipshits sandbagging their way to 75.
 
Ugh, this just gets worse. First it was the rank 5 ordeal. Now anyone can get ran through to Rank 5 when they're lvl 10. Rank 5 means nothing now. :roll:

... and here come the rest of the ranks tumbling down the ladder.
 
rank actually used to mean something I have to agree. Im sorry but being 63 I would NEVER invite you join me. Its just a slap in the face for those that have actually gone that far and achieved the possibility of attaining rank 10.

Now it is a merely a joke, hence why I am still rank 9 and dont give a shit.

I speak out of neutrality but like others have said you shouldnt have been there. Bailing on an alliance too i look down upon too but I dont know, people sub - 65 should not have rank 10.

simply said a melee cannot expect to get rank 10 at that level. you are a liability. mages are a touch diff, mostly cause as long as they're standing atthe end of it the tank doesn't care where their raise comes from. when i did my 9-2 we failed 3 times and i damn well know why, me, kaius and shapatho were all lowbies and dragging the 75's down...

Who says it's their first job? You see Rank 10s in the Dunes, too, don't you? Some are just people raising other jobs and could very well hve one or two 70+.....

I understand that I was too low level to do this mission. But... If someone offered you the opportunity to have a chance at getting this done. Would you take up that opportunity? or would you just let it slip?. I was offered it, so i took it. :oops:
I knew that i wouldnt have a good chance at this... but I thought that our party setup wouldnt be all of the lower levels that were there. If he would have helped tank we could have had a chance. He had to be an asshole and just leave us.
Remember that we did 8-2, 9-1, and 9-2 all together. So being level 63 and rank 8 isnt all that bad. I would have been surprised to be a level 63 with Rank 10 myself. I just wanted to get this crap over with so i wouldnt have to worry about anymore San d'Orian Missions. :x
So before you start talking about "lvl63 and rank10 wtf?..." we were all only rank 8 to begin with. I can see why the level 70+'s could be a little upset because they had to wait till they got to that level to do the mission.
But we were offered this shit. Its different if you see a level63 shouting in lower jeuno "{San d'Oria} {Mission} 9-2 {do you need it?}". :roll:

I clearly said that the low levels might not be able to get it done... I forget who the war's friend was... I said yeha he can come for 9-1 but 9-2.... I'm not sure what a lvl 58 can do.
Mysterious why don't you save all the convo's.
I said I had to go afk. I'm not gonna get stuck in Fei'Yin w/o a warp or tele.
I had to go to my cuz's to get beer. You shoulda took a picture of my search comment. It had everything in there. "Away, at my cuz's getting beer."
I put the best setups any possible way I could. The blm and rdm and whm even went twice for you guys. We had like 4 pld, 1 nin, 3 drg, 1 sam, 2 whm, 2 rdm, 1 blm, 1 war.
What the hell am I gonna do in a pt with 2 tanks and 2 drg?
It's kinda hard to make a setup with this many of the same jobs.
You're a 63 dragoon dude. You should be happy you're even up to 9-2.
The war still ain't complaining, either has anyone else, so why are you?

You know what I mean. There are multiple people on these forums who have Rank 9 before 60 and rank 10 before 65. Check some random sigs if you don't believe me.
 
I think I misread your post actually. I thought you meant strictly in game, doing a search on level 50-60s w/ ranks 9-10 and assuming it's their first job. "^^"; My mistake.

When I did my Rank missions, I was a 67ish Dragoon, but when it came down to 9-2, the leader told all the melee below 70 (as well as all the mages below 67) that they were too low for the bcnm. Fair enough, I waited until I was a 75 Dragoon to get Rank 10 :cry:

If you knew you were too low, Myst, you shouldn't have accepted the offer....or at least not have even thought about the 9-2 battle.
 
Best comment I've seen is if rank truly even matters anymore. When i played i reached 67 drg but guess what.. i was only rank 7. I didn't even care about 8, 9, or 10. The one thing I have learned that when trying to setup parties... the serach function doesn't guage SKILL and POPULARITY. Most likely you want people in parties who are well known for what they bring into a party and if they are actually good at what they do. No amount of awesome armor and completed missions or quest can tell you such a thing. Armor and etc are just there to enhance your party capabilities. I know y'all have seen noobs and etc out there with awesome armor and can't do a thing with it or still play as if their armor/weapons are very outdated.

Myst... I don't blame you for what you did. Opportunity knocked, and you opened the door. It's like you took a shot at a once in a lifetime offer. It failed, you learned your lesson and life goes on... simple as that. Also, imho, if one makes an alliance, they should see it through all the way to the end. If you made an alliance to fight some HNM and you had to go AFK because of whatever reason and left while your alliance beats whatever HNM and gets that 'good' drop. Would you ask for a share of the profit although you left the alliance early. Or even, just change the roles of what happened. The only way i would leave that kinda of situation is if the power in my house went out.

But anyways, i digress... There are a lotta what i like to call, 'Quest leechers' out there. People who just form parties/alliances for their own benefit and could care less about what happens after they completed the 'hassle' part of the quest/mission. That's why you should make things like that an LS thing. So if something like that happens, you can 'happily discuss' what happened in the LS chat, hehehe.

Oh yeah, after seeing that pic of the people in the alliance, I wanna say hi to Svichi, hope you're doing well... ^^;

Thank you Cous... This is exactly how i am looking at it right now.
I shouldnt have gone to the 9-2 in the first place. It was a waste of 3+ hours of my day. Yes, I am happy that I am on 9-2 at least. And i still think No, you shouldnt have left half the alliance there.
