This is my favorite PSN game, and to be honest one of my favorite PS3 games period. It's kind of a different game, the main point is the challenge mode, in which you have a car and try and get through the checkpoints, potentially getting stars or a GS credit and get the fastest time. There's a racing mode, but that's not the real game. The gameplay is just insane, very challenging at the later levels, and you start doing amazing things just to get to the end or to shave time, flinging yourself off the track and what not. Well a XBLA is out now and you should give it a try. There's over 100 challenge races, and it's a real steal for $10.

i just got done playing this with my friend...i cant see what the big deal was, didnt like it, nor did my friends >.> seems like any other racing game. Even the non racing mode seemed lacking

The challenge mode is the game, not the race. Keep playing it and try getting on the leaderboard with your finish times. As the levels get more complex, it starts to get insanely fun.

The graphics got a lot better than the PSP version got (did the PS3 get its own version fire, or just a ported PSP version?), but this style of game caters to a very certain crowd. Chances are not many people are going to like it, but the review it go in OXM was way too harsh. 5.5.....i mean seriously.

The game isn't a perfect 10, and it is a pretty decent pick up for only $10, but there is a chance that this game might not be for you.

Playing this off Prothall's Xbox with him. Problem here is that the leaderboards were condensed. There are 3 possible best times for each level, and they have a leaderboard on the 360 version that's an average of the 3 times. On the PS3 they're separate. We both prefer the old way. The leaderboard is absolutely important in the enjoyment of the game cause the fun is trying to see how low your times can go and finding tricks to speed it up by breaking the rules of the level.
