lol, I havent really bothered to rant about this for a while, because its barely even affecting me, honestly. But I might as well since its one extra dollar a month.

Anyway, Ive noticed that with FFXI ONLY, Ive been being charged +1$ a month... But not on anything else. This strikes me as odd... SE, what are you doing with my 10 minute phone call, you bastards?!?!

I use my debit card to pay for, well. Almost everything I buy. But, for some ODD reason, Im charged one extra dollar a month for FFXI... I check my bill, and I see:

12.95 for Content ID #1
1.00 for Content ID #2

and

1.00 for Playonline Services?! I think thats it, hold on lemme check.




Thing is, idk what that extra dollar is! Gonna have to call em sometime, but its not really a big deal to me. lol
 
Tetra Master, by chance? I wouldn't know what the bill would say(hell, I haven't even used up my free month of TM). Just a thought though.

Did you by chance reactivate a content ID that you cancelled at any time? If so, I think it's something like rent where you pay the first and last payment or something or some activation fee of the same amount.

I remember seeing it something like that when I reactivated an old cancelled content ID. Btw, you can use Debit cards for FFXI? o.O thought it was only credit cards... or I guess to start you need credit then switch over to debit later?

POL is definitely a free service; it says so in the manual that comes with the CD. Maybe you should call your bank or call SE to find out what that charge is, because I've never seen it on my bill. Then again, I haven't seen any charges for the month of March on my bill either lol
 
Service Fee for the Debit Card service since you're using it rather than CC? I know some places in some malls charge money to use debit to pay for the machines. Probably what it is.

no, its been like this every time I checked my billing, lol. I have reactivated my account twice within the past year, though.

And yeah, Ive used a Debit card the entire time, but its got a Visa logo on it

This makes sense, I believe this is what it may be
 
The billing statement for your debit card is based on your bank's online system. This bank looks like they do the added content ID as a separate transaction from the first. Some banking companies will have the charges as one transaction.

It could also be a service fee depending on what agreement you signed up for when opening the account. But it probably would have had more detail saying Service Fee for transaction.

Ask the bank about your statement.
 
It's a service fee that SE is passing along to you to run your debit card number. SE is being charged a POS terminal fee since a debit card will not process as a credit card. They in turn pass the fee along to you, as well as making a small profit for themselves since this fee is generally in the range of $.25 USD.

it's being charged as a credit card most likely, however I'd like to know if you entered your pin number when you entered your payment info. If not, it's not being run as a debit card.
