Grr why is everyone leaving?

i played ultima online for about 2 years. once i was told about ffxi by a friend, i stopped playing UO since, however, i still have the acct active and just log into it every so often but never go to do anything but just log in. i just have a bad feeling that ffxi is going to turn out the same way. something better will come out and ill forget all about ffxi. its only a game, but the friends that are met while playing the game will live with you forever. and thats the worst part about leaving mmo's

I realy think I just need a change in pace. The ability to solo for a little bit would definetly be nice.

yes play BST if you're wanting to solo. Been playing it since I got back from vacation and haven't looked back.

It's hard to leave a game in which one has made good friends, but the reality is that if one only logs in to chat with friends anymore, then one is really done with the game.

That's pretty much the #1 reason I left. All the other reasons that caused me to leave tie into that though.

That's the ONLY reason I didn't leave earlier than I did.

I'm leaving FFXI, maybe for good.

My main reasons for wanting to go and play WoW is because:

a) Most of my friends are going to and we can all start new and this time keep together. FFXI was our first MMORPG ever and being all excited we all went our own directions and ended up largely playing the game by ourselves. This time we realized the importance of playing with friends and we hope to enjoy the game together.

b) The ability to solo is very good for busy days when you just want to get a bit of exp and not feel OBLIGATED to exp for 2-3 hours.

c) No idiots. You dont have to risk the chance of being with COMPLETE MORONS that i see so often in FFXI. Since WoW isnt as rigid in terms of PT formations as with FFXI, I can PT with my 2-3 other good friends and exp well together.

d) EVERYONE IS STARTING NEW. Meaning Gil Sellers wont know exactly what is the best thing to do yet, and becasue I can now start a craft without getting dicked in the ass cause the whole path from 1-60 is a loss.

reason i might leave

1. Gil sellers have taken over the markets... 300k + for fuma's? 700k + for ochiudo's / snipers? cmon gimme a break i thought gaming was SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.
2. WoW = all my friends new mmo all the ones that quit ff cuz of gil selling.
3. FF is getting to boring considering everyone and there momma only does statics now.
4. i got a new job =/

Stryder 60 monk
Bastokan High Elite

Yeah me too will officially quit FF when Wow comes out for all the reasons mentions above:

1. After been a year doing this almost 24/7, it is only a matter of time, till it gets boring. This game is now to me a "Been there, Done that" feeling. WoW would be a fresh start again. (aahhhh! been a Noob again) :D
2. I really hated ppl with their Statics PT's. ppl dont realize all of the ppl they shut off from been in statics. making the whole process of making Pt's even more complicated. Either ppl r japanese pt's only or their statics pt's only. :x
3. Gil Sellers annoyance & HNM LS stealing HNM. (Me as high lvl bst, had it happen to me many times).
4. Many Many reasons i can't mention.

So finally i really can't find a good reason to stay with FF. True there is always the ppl u knew & met through this whole process, which u will miss, but thats life. Always moving forward, and looking ahead to the future :)

My biggest fear about WoW will be the rejects. Blizzard gets the dumbes human beings on Earth playing thier games, and I am afraid about dealing with them once more. Partying however seems very flexibale which is nice.

Beastmaster?
Ninja can also solo pretty good...Maybe not as fast in exp. getting as Beastmaster, but they can solo pretty damn good...(A friend of mine(60NIN/WAR) was able to fight a VT Crab by himself, took not too long for him either just takes a lot of utsusemi =P )

Been playinig WoW for 2 days now and I can say, that while the quests can be a bit annoying sometimes and running around can get tedious, the quests inadvertantly give exp which gives EXPing a better feel to it.

No more level grind, I've rarely level grineded in the game so far and quests give by far a lot more exp.

It's seemed quite slow largely because of all the lag spikes and stuff which makes navigating town a tedious job since you lag and warp around sometimes because of the lag.

The game looks VERY interesting though and I'm definately going to give this a try.

And Direwolf, it cant get any worse than FFXI, besides you can always solo or form a small party with close friends :).

"It can't get any worse than FFXI"?!?!?!

Three words...

Phantasy ... Star ... Online

Officially? No, it wasn't an MMORPG but an MORPG. (Not "Massive")... But it sure as fuck was TREATED like an MMORPG.

Money wasn't an issue in that game because money could be easily duplicated. Weapons could be hacked. People ran around like crazy, hacking the shit out of each other, and even gained the ability to hack your character, and fuck it up by turning you into a storyline NPC (Called "NOL"ing, because the character's name was a woman journalist named "Nol Rinale") by just simply enabling a hack and sending you their guild card (Which is the equivalent of adding you to their friend's list.)

... FFXI isn't that bad ... Not yet anyway.

Unlike PSO, FFXI actually polices their servers (TO A DEGREE. Not saying they do it well. But atleast GMs are fuckin' THERE). Whereas with PSO, players run around unbound by laws and most complaints sent to Sega / Sonic Team were ignored until they were received En Masse in record numbers.

But, of course, even in my eyes, FFXI does have it's flaws...

Me & my friend were eager to start up FFXI when we first got it, but we thought the character customization was "Gay".

We were used to PSO's system after playing it for so fuckin' long...

You could edit your character's hairstyle, facial type, hair color (By using the standard red, green, and blue color bars and changing the hex value of your hair color) ... your character's proportion (Yes, you horny teens could even make a girl character with big titties...) ...and even your character's SKIN color (Which I would've KILLED for in FFXI).

Whereas in FFXI...

You get to choose what head you want... The facial expressions go WITH the hairstyle / head type... which is gay... And gayer still, you get to choose between "Color A" and "Color B"...

...I wanted to see ETHNIC DIVERSITY in FFXI... I hate the fact that I have clones running around... Lucky for me, I use a head that isn't often used for male Elvaans.

I share my character style with Neophytal, Otakumont, Xile, and Synical... There's more I'm sure.

But I still wish there were more customization options... Even Star Wars Galaxies had more options than this!

...

Long story short, however. I don't see myself quitting FFXI anytime soon. I seem to make alot of you people laugh and smile, and I'm sure I'd be missed if I were to leave (At the risk of sounding haughty).

Besides, I'm too deeply-rooted into Quetzalcoatl to turn back, OR World-Emmigrate now!

According to people on other servers... OUR Server's one of the more "fucked up" and "chaotic" ones...

So we have one of two options... Either leave, or fight back.

I'd fight back, as long as there'd be those who fight with me.

No I dont mean in terms of hacking etc., i mean in terms of the population of morons that makes an ever so obvious existence in FFXI.

LOL @ PSO. I already said this earlier in numerous posts, but I played PSO for a loooooooong time on Xbox Live. That game was the BEST-WORST game I have ever played in my life.

I never thought that such a craptacular game could be so much fun. The Xbox Live chat made it more interesting, and I duped so much that I had 999999999 (I forgot what the max amount of figures were in that game) meseta on all of my characters, mules, and dupe mules.

It was just disgusting how easy it was to dupe and hack that game, even funnier was how bad I OWNED all those "legit" clans. LOL do you think I played by the rules? I was this teeny tiny FOnewearl up against 3 other lvl 200 HUcasts with huge swords. I just unplugged my router for 10 seconds, which kept me in the game (but not online) for 11 seconds before it kicked me off. So I was the only one who could move, the rest of them just look like they stand there. Then I cast megid on each one of them about 7-8 times. I plug my cord back in, BAM the lag settles back and it looks like I am a megid machine gun. It dropped the 2 that went for me and the other one that ran away, yep the megid went straight through the wall!

Besides getting bored of the game, my eventual quitting of PSO occured when most of my buddies started playing FFXI and when those damn rangers got a hold of yasminkov machine guns that had a larger radius than grants.

Well that's my story!

Please, please dont ever change to another mmorpg just to chase someone in one of those mmorpg relationships. Please dont :(
Had it not been for a girl on pso I wouldn't even be here, but at shortly before i bought my ps2 she and i "break up", so i bought this thing anyway and came to quetz randomly instead of making my way to her server. please unless ur absolutely sure its worth it, please do not chase someone across games.

ur... kidding right? lol

I'm not leaving, this is my 1st MMORPG after the FF9 series and i'm staying put. The japanese has been in-game since it started and i'm hell not gonna be a quitter anytime soon. 11months and counting for me since i 1st started FFXI. Time sure flies fast lol. And another reason i am staying is cause i like someone in-game^^ and even if one day she were to leave for another MMORPG, i will still be here always.

It's not fun anymore.

Simple as that. A game is for one thing: Fun. Once the Game becomes a Job its not fun anymore. 90% of old friends are gone, gil sellers run rampant, JP ONLY is at an all time high... The subjob nazi's on allakhazam demand 4hour-cookie-cutter-crab-parties...

Meh. I'm going to finish DRK. Take a picture. But thats about it. That was my goal when i started after all...

why is JP only at an all time high?

i think we should seriously re-evaluate the reasons and think of why they would do that.

i dont deny that most of the players in this forum are GOOD players, but there are SO MANY MORE SHITTY PLAYERS OUT THERE.
