GTA 4 full experience: 360 only and E3 discussion

just finished watching the MS E3 conference and i was a little shocked when they said that after GTA4 releases, content will be availble for download in 2008 that adds multiple hours of play and many new features and it will be xbox 360 exclusive making the only way to get the full GTA4 experience is to play on 360.
i swore he said like 80 hours of extra content, but im sure i heard that wrong.

Playstation 3's online seems like it's going to be defunct. It seems that by offering it free to the player, they ask for a shit ton in return from the provider of content.
 
And there is no argument that PS3 will fit this content on the blueray. They said it very clear, it will be ONLY on 360. Well my decision is made. 360 version ok. lol.
 
I saw the press conference too, Sony's going to have to pull a rabbit out of their ass to be more impressive; especially since everything but 1 game is coming out this year.

I'm definitely going to get Gears of War for PC. Naruto: Rise of Ninja? I can't wait for that.

with all the crap they just announced for live alone tonight, im a very very very happy camper. my kid is going to love that deal they made with disney, im gonna have to download every disney movie.
Sonic the hedgehog, Goldenaxe? hell yes.

that rock band performance was pretty funny.

and Scene it, While i never usually play anything like that, it is an AMAZING idea with the PERFECT price. the game and 4 controllers for the price of a normal 360 game, thats going to be a great party game.

Assasins creed looked to have some glitches, for instance, he jumped off a building with all those people around and nothing happens, they played it off "luckily no one saw that" then they laughed. then they kill that guard on the roof and he didnt fall off, just floated in mid air lol.

The Halo 3 trailer at the end, i almost wet to see Arbiter and Chief together and not fighting. Then how he put his hand down and gave that look of the world on his shoulders with that slight doubt of "can i really succeed this time" sent chills down my spine.

Gears for PC....new levels...creation mode...new achievements...cross platform play.
i only hope they bring the new stuff to the 360 version too....i wanna fight that monster from the trailer on 360! not PC!!!
 
Dunno, what's to be excited about. They didn't announce shit that wasn't known already except for some new movie downloads and xbox live games.

He definitely did not say the GTA4 content was "80 hours." He said it was 2 episodes, and coming in March. Whatever 2 episodes consists of, who knows?

Then the first Halo 3 trailer was all CG, followed by a second that was intermixed with tons of CG clips with gameplay visuals that are way short of the pictures they were throwing out.

They did one thing really well and that's pitch 360 to third party, showing the sales figures, and then they went ahead and spent most of the presentation showing trailers for third party games. Knowing it'd get put on Xbox live seemed like they were just showing the companies they were getting marketing support.

Was the first showing of Resident Evil 5 but yeah.. it was already announced.


Biggest thing I learned out of that was how badly I want Assassin's Creed.

And with all the features in Gears of War PC maybe pick that up since it doesn't require Vista.

Non of the last video was CG, all in game engine. For halo that is. And fire this is all 360 needed to do. Do they need to prove anything new? No, they already dominate. PS3 need new shit. All the games shown(not RE5) are coming out this year. That is like 15 games i am going to have to buy now... Not to mention there are still some they did not even talk about. Which is salt in sonys wounds. Sony better have some shit lined up man. Assasin Creed was still glitchy but man its is impressive. CoD4 was just wtf... Incredible. I did even notice their was a dude next to you in camo at start, THE BUSH WAS JUST MOVING I SAY!;; And the numbers they put up about software was just nuts also lol. 1.4B on Wii software, 1.1B on PS3 software and 2.4B on 360 software. All in the same time frame. Doesnt seem they will slow down with all these titles coming before christmas. And 7M+ xboxlive users? Hehe.
 
Well the thing is almost everything they featured was multiplatform.

They featured PG4, Mass Effect, Halo 3 and Lost Odyssey. None of them look any better than photos they've been showing around and the most important, Halo, looks worse. The rest they spent on multiplatforms. PS3 is going to be able to push more than 4 big exclusives coming out this holiday. If they can surprise us, with for example Firmware 2.0, a few new exclusives, Home being ready for open Beta, some intense gameplay footage, they'll have the better E3.

People were expecting Moore to come out with a MSG4 tattoo(I wasn't), a price drop(I wasn't either) a cheaper new sku(not that lime green affair), or something. MS really needed something bad to counteract all the press they're getting now over their fail rates.

--Hell if you were watching the conference on G4, at the end of it, they had a poll about 360 death rates which made them look bad.
 
Isn't the Naruto game also an exclusive?
 
They did not need a price drop, a new sku or anything lol. This was kinda a straight shot by MS. Kinda like they said if you want the better GAME console for this year get a 360. PS3s big boys are still in 08;; Sure more footage will be nice, but showing some games released soon is very good idea. And halo did not look worse fire lol. Maybe you are just a hater lol. Anyways their show was fine. Like said earlier they are showing how they will keep lead with games coming in 07'. Winning this holiday goes deep into next years pockets as systems will sell here. "just you wait! the games are coming! just you wait!" lol, thats what i expect at Sonys confrence. Hopefully someone is playing lair, heavenlyGoW and Killzone on screen because we need some proof sony has good stuff coming.
 
Naw not a hater, Halo doesn't look bad. It's just that the screens they released of single player made it look like it was gonna be on the level of CoD4. It looks a little better than the multiplayer, and that's alright cause that's good enough, but it leaves it wide open to Killzone towering over it technologically.(Of course Halo could look like the original doom and it'd still sell more copies.)
 
kill zone tried to kill halo before and failed miserably, i cant see it changing any this time around.
The MS conference was hard hitting and strong. and its going to take alot for PS3 to even come close to that. the fact that he kept stating how all those games are coming out this year except RE5, just made me feel like theres so much coming at once and im going to be buying alot of games.
And the fact that with these multi plats they are still pulling in some major exclusive stuff to them, is another slap in sonys face.
Halo Looked amazing, I dont get what that live action/CG trailer had to do with anything (the one with all the soldiers suiting up were real people, just like it was real kids at the beginning of stary night)
but that last glimpse looked amazing.
He said it was the best gaming console on the planet right now. and i cannot disagree because im very excited for what the rest of the year has to come and how, while its hard to imagine, im sure next year will be even better.

as for the GoW stuff coming to 360, nothing has been said about it yet.
 
Chas that RL halo trailer was made by the guy supposably working on the Halo movie.. Which sure will never come lol. Fire those maps so far ar PC only. They have not said anything about bringing them to GeoW360. As for the Halo vs other shooters thing. Halo is a totaly different art style. More like Oblivions expansion pack, remember the colors and shit. All the others look faded, dull, greys greys greys ect. Dont get me wrong graphically they are impressive, but you get tired of all this grey shit.
 
ah that was a peter jackson trailer, didnt hear that part, only caught the "live action" part, then i thought it was CG...but i kept saying...wait...that looks too real to be CG.
 
My only real question is, did you come out of the E3 learning about anything you didn't know about already? I understand you're hyped for 360 christmas lineup, it's a good lineup. But you already knew everything shown didn't you?

Alternatively Nintendo showed off Wii health which for all we know outsells Halo 3. Then they showed Mariokart which is a big deal and dated their big 3 games. That's some important information we didn't know before.

there were several un confirmed and un announced things at E3 lastnight, so i learned of several i didnt know about.
Scene it, New controller, New Sku, GoW PC with new content, Disney contract, golden axe, Sonic the hedgehog, Gta4 Exclusive episodes, The lost odyssey story revealed.
