Guide to Opening Coffers

My suggestion is to obtain some form of picks if you are THF, or even better, a legitimate coffer key to ensure a 100% safe pop.

MAKE A MACRO to handle this task expeditiously.
It's as easy as any other macro.

Add bells and whistles if desired. This is a good way to get you what you want so bad. Proven to be a lollygag free solution that won't leave you slapping your own forehead, angry at the world.


Of course ethics and morals surround coffer picking, as they do anything else. Choose your style because it works for you.

A suggestion though: Pretend like there are others around that are waiting for that coffer as well. The fact that you perform like you have something to accomplish, and the fact that you have a macro created, will aid you greatly in retrieving the contents within the coffer.

But, is it true that your INT stat influences the outcome of pick ?
The higher the safer ?

Supposedly. THF has higher natural INT than most other melee. The +5 INT from the bonnet is there for a reason. I have yet to equip INT equipment (aside from AF), and eat INT food while picking coffers/stealing coins. Anyone have any experience with that?

Out of 20 chests and coffers picked in Castle Oz, I was weakened once and got a mimic once. 3 Electrum Hairpins, 6 Safeguard Rings, and gil the rest of the time. The hairpins are what you want. Those are from chest pops, not coffers. I won't pick a box unless I am prepared to leave when I do it.
