Guild Camping Monopolies

Anyone know of a guild thats always camped and you can never get the items you want?

I know the Windhurst Clothcraft guild is always packed, and its near impossible to get the items you want (because it always sells out as soon as it opens). So, one day I decided to head over to Selbina to see if i could get some materials from there.

Peridocially a few mules named selbinagodfour and selbinagodfive camp this Selbina guild as well. I swear this guy has written a program to control both of these characters, because the guild is sold out instantly of cotton and silk as soon as these guys show up.

I can understand getting beat to the punch by real players, but computers? That's really unfair!

Anyone have any similar experiences?

you arent likely to find a single guild that doesnt have its various campers.
every single one has people that log onto a mule parked at the npc, just as it opens, to buy out one item or another and relog until the next day.
if seems to me that this is a Pretty Shitty way to make an ingame living. its an awful gil/hr rate. More than that though, it seems like a Pretty Shitty way to spend ones time in ffxi. /shrug


as for your bot theory, it could be possible to write one to buy out items. but i find it unlikely. it is not hard to memorize where on the sell list the item you want is, and as soon as the guild opens (before the items even fully load up) buy what you need. the forced delay of item purchases kinda nerf a bot as much as a normal "enter" spammer.

I have long been battling the Clothcraft campers in Selbina. I found the best time to buy is after an update. Seriously, I know it's effed up, but that is when I level my clothcrafting if I need these items. /fume

Try to buy arrowwood lumber in Woodworking guild. I camped it, along with as I can count about 20 others, and I got 1 stacks, plus 1, so thats 13 in total. After that, I make all my own stuff.

Another thing to note is teh guild has shit supply. I have had the clothcraft guild open on me before and I bought it out of all the materials I use, there was not whole hell of alot to begin with. People who camp the guild are realy wasting their time unless they plan on crafting that crap.

Goldsmith guild for silver on the right day. I don't see people camping it, but normally there are a few people crafting silver which can sell it out really fast.

I don't craft stacks of silver a lot though, only time to time while I'm farming. I could be wrong.
