i wanted to put this in the generalsection even though its not FFXI related.

after leveling up my subjobfor a while with a few QCDNers i logged off and hopped on another game that ended up being quite cool. my roommate and i downloaded the free beta for Guildwars and played that a little bit. it was pretty fun. you use your mouse a little bit more than you do in ffxi. the graphics are wonderfull. and the best part is that its completely free. when the game comes out you will of course have to pay for the real thing. but they have said there will never be a monthly fee.

i'm not trying to pull any of you away from ffxi. i just thought others might like to try this out. it has some good aspects to it.

I've played GuildWars during the 3 days E3 demo, it was pretty awesome, but I wouldn't call it an MMORPG per se. Character customization is very limited, there are no quests to speak of, all of the things you need to do are tasks, I like the way gear upgrades are handled, will definitely buy it when it comes out, it's good if you just want to hop in and have some fun right away without having to wait for a party or whatnot.

If you can believe it, the image dump website actually pixelated that screenshot a little more than the actual thing.

I'll be getting GW when it comes out - no monthly fee, and it'll be fun on the side of FF, for when I don't have 4 hours for a pt, or waiting for an NM to spawn.
