Very dissappointed to see no Metallica on there D: But Hangar 18 makes up for it, that song was made to be on Guitar hero.

agreed with the disappointed in no metallica :| but they could be in the songs you buy or the "Secret" stuff.. at least I know there were "Secret" songs you can buy in the first if you beat expert or get 5 stars on all expert songs or something like that :P this isn't the "complete" list as much as the "list of songs you play during the career" :P

Wait... WHAT.

Are you telling me I'm going to have to afk for the next 2 weeks to 5 star the last few songs? D:

And I don't think they'll be in the normal bonus tracks, all the normal bonus track on GH were less-known bands

It's saddening that people will play this game when all they really need to do is buy a guitar and actually learn to play. That game should be called Guitar Zero, because it sucks ass and I compare people that play it to those freaks that think DDR is a good game.

It takes a lot longer to learn on a real guitar, and thats not somethign everyone wants to do. Games like this are made for people to have a good time with their friends, not people totally serious about becoming the next Van Halen.

So what your saying is everyone wants to become a gimp noob?

Id rather continue playing my one song on the guitar.
.... Only reason i learned was for some song by Korn i think its called "got the life"

Gimp noob? What post were you reading?

All I said, is not everyone is interested in learning the Guitar. Most people spend years learning to play the guitar. And for what? To sit in their dorms and play "Time of their life" until their fingers bleed?

For those people who don't want to learn, but want to have fun, there is Guitar Hero.

Why play FFXI when you can do martial arts and weapon training in real life?

Why play a shooter when you can join the army and shoot real guns at real people?

Why play a puzzle game when you can buy any one of a number of real puzzles?

Why play Trauma Center when you can become a real surgeon?

Why play a driving game when you can get in your car and drive around on real roads?

I have yet to ever play this game, but id have to agree that playing real guitar seems like alot more fun. Ill never forget the first time i played a song and actually recognized from what i was playing that it was that song, something a game can not possibly re-create.

But on the other hand, for someone that has no guitar knowledge whatsoever, this could potentially be fun...just not for me.

Ok lets look at this...I'll tell you every song I know how to play on guitar and how simple it is to play.
1. Opening Licks
Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil- OK, it's the CREW, Most of this song is one chord..
Danzig - Mother - 3 chord into... 3 chord verse.. 3 chord breakdown... 3 chord outro. Same three chords.
Cheap Trick - Surrender - This one you would have to practice a bit to learn on guitar.
Wolfmother - Woman - I don't even know what this song is.
Spinal Tap - Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight - lolspinal tap, just turn up your amps to 11.

2. Amp-Warmers
Kiss - Strutter - Possibly one of the worst Kiss songs, never learned to play it.
Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box - 3 chord progression broken down into single note runs, then the chords are played full in the chorus, too easy
Police - Message in a Bottle - This one takes a little more finess than your average pop song, you would have to learn scales to master this song.
Van Halen - You Really Got Me - well, yeah it's Eddie.
Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son -One of the first songs I learned along with One by Metallica and Star Spangled banner as done by Jimi. Very easy riff to learn once you get a little finger dexterity, good song for learning different scales and chord progressions. Can also use it to practice finger picking or double picking with the verse.

3. String-Snappers

Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench - Same as any Nirvana song, just not as cool
Alice in Chains - Them Bones - you can plat this whole song with 2 fingers, seriously I used to play the chorus on bass with my thumb. Simple.
Iggy Pop and the Stooges - Search and Destroy - ><
Pretenders - Tattooed Love Boys - ><
Black Sabbath - War Pigs - lets see 2 chords, 3 chords, 2 chords, um the solo would be difficult for a begginer, but if you can play any of the songs above this, you can play this song.

4. Thrash and Burn

Warrant - Cherry Pie - not worth it
Butthole Surfers - Who Was in My Room Last Night - not worth it
Mathew Sweet - Girlfriend - deffinatly not worth it
Rolling Stones - Can't You Hear Me Knockin' - love the stones, not worth it
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine - G'n'R RULZ, but not worth it

5. Return of the Shred
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Of - ok, Tom morello does some weird stuff with the guitar, but this is a 4 chord song, simple breakdowns , very easy to learn.
Primus - John the Fisherman - ok don't even try this unless you are a prodigy or played for a few years.
Sword - Freya -?
Thin Lizzy - Bad Reputation -what's with all the good artists with the shitty songs?
Aerosmith - Last Child -same as thin lizzy

6. Relentless Riffs
Heart - Crazy on You - Learned this after playing for 3 months, very easy song to master
Stone Temple Pilots - Tripping on a Hole in a Paper Heart - again great band, shitty song. Easy to play.
Stray Cats - Rock This Town -I don't look at this as a stray cats song, God bless the founders of ska.
Allman Brothers - Jessica - get and acoustic and play this song, chicks dig it.
Jane's Addiction - Stop -Triing to think what song this is but can't remember.

7. Furious Fretwork
Anthrax - Madhouse - Yes the Nirvana of the 1980s, very easy stuff to play.
Living End - Carry Me Home - ?
Lamb of God - Laid to Rest - yeah you need strong forearms for this band, stanima and quick fingers, make take some time to play this right.
Reverend Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout -NOT WORTH THE TIME
Rush - YYZ -yeah it's a hard song

8. Face-Melters
Avenged Sevenfold - Beast and the Harlot - who is this band? I hear about them but I don't think I ever heard one of their songs.
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized - All I wanted was a pepsi, why can't I have pepsi...
Dick Dale - Misirlou - one finger the whole song
Megadeth - Hangar 18 - Advanced, Dave Mustain is an animal
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird - Easy song and people will love you for playing it.

To be honest, upon closer examination of this list, the songs aren't even that good. Sure some of them are great, but the bands in this game have such better songs in their library. Course maybe those are the songs that fools with plastic guitars like to play.

You know it's not all about being the next Van Halen though, that is just what we did hanging out having a good time with friends. You know, drink a beer smoke a bowl and cover the master of puppets album. That was a fun day.

Why play FFXI when you can do martial arts and weapon training in real life?

Why play a puzzle game when you can buy any one of a number of real puzzles?

Why play Trauma Center when you can become a real surgeon?

Why play a driving game when you can get in your car and drive around on real roads?

Not everyone is going to buy a 300 dollar guitar and take weeks, months, whatever to learn how to play it. That's great that you know how to play all those songs and that they're easy for you to play, but let the people have their fun.

Thank you. I thought I was going to have to do this. Guitar Hero isn't worth my time when I have my Fender 62 Jaguar Rosewood sitting 3 feet away from me. Most of these have easy chord progressions, most of which you can learn without even knowing what the notes are, just finger positioning. Doesn't really take much talent at all.

Why play FFXI when you can do martial arts and weapon training in real life?
Tae Kwon Doe, Aikido, Shotokhan, Karate, Kendo.

Why play a shooter when you can join the army and shoot real guns at real people?
I hate guns but I spent like 4 months learning archery at a camp

Why play a puzzle game when you can buy any one of a number of real puzzles?
Life is a puzzle I have yet to figure out.

Why play Trauma Center when you can become a real surgeon?
Because Im not planning on going to college for a PhD in the medical field.

Why play a driving game when you can get in your car and drive around on real roads?
I could do both, and In real life i cant throw a "bomb-omb" at someone and not kill them.

Why don't I learn to play the real guitar instead of playing a video game guitar? Because I don't fucking care to learn to play the real guitar, I want a fun game that I can pick up and Guitar Hero is it. If I wanted to know how to really play a guitar, I would have already learned it, but I don't so I'll play Guitar Hero.

It's a fucking game, you don't like it, don't play it; but just because other people don't have any desire to learn to play a real guitar doesn't make the game any less fun. The entire point of games is escapism and entertainment, if I learn how to play a real guitar it's not longer escapism and therefore not as entertaining. Plus, no matter how good at the guitar I get, I'll never be a Grim Reaper rocking out on a stage with a scythe.

I don't know about the other guitarists on this board, but I learned to play guitar so my friends could laugh at me as I try to play "paranoid android" drunk. Plus, it got me a lot of chicks in college. Something this game won't do for you.

It's just a game though, and some people seem to enjoy it. Always thought the controller looked retarded though. heh.
