Anything special happen from it's death or is it meaningless like damn near every other thing in this game?

Gave 280 bonus exp/IS, and they ran as soon as he fell. And well, he won't be up in Mamook for a few days. So explore behind his door?

Try and find out who killed him and ask them if they/their alliance got the title he gives normally I guess?

Might. Dunno. Haven't heard of the bosses dying yet. I mean, it's probably happened before, just that I have no clue what it means outside of him not being around for a while and the exp bonus.
 
i'll go check the door i have the 3 keys after all, might as well use them.

Did he drop anything :P I guess you have to kill him inside Mamook to get the drop.

ok i checked behind the Mohagony door in Mamook and Gulool Ja Ja is still here, HP 100% lmao. You didnt kill it!!!!
 
are beseiged gulool ja ja and mamook Gulool Ja Ja diffrent mobs?
 
Yeah i was there when we took him down, and he definatly died cause i have SS's of it(on ps2), but yeah all it really gave was an exp boost. It was still fun to kill him though, im not sure it's been done before but its the first time ive seen it.

It's was safe to assume it works both ways, since during advancement and besieged, he's removed from Mamook until it's over. =/

Because I was weakened and rested up a bit of MP before boosting up Chi Blast?
 
I got an extra 80 xp (1080) last night...someone said it was from killing one of the lesser nm's?
 
Yeah, lessers are +80. Big guys are +200, with a chance of autoretreat. Not sure how many mobs were left, since I was on Monk regaining lost EXP. I usually keep track with BST to find any correlation behind mobs remaining and retreating. But the fact that they retreated before he even hit the ground is a pretty interesting thing. Could've just hit the amount of mobs necessary to win with his death though.
 
yeah you get an 80 exp boost from assisting in killing a lesser nm, and 280? or somethin from killing the leader.
 
Gulool Ja Ja/ gurlfur the mencaing/ Medusa work all the same way: they are in their dunjeons behind a certain door in their beastmen stronghold during besieged lv0-6. As soon as you get the system msg that the beastmen are attacking, it warps directly from its throne room ( going to alzabi). Ive checked it myself in Medusa room: as soon as it becomes lv6 medusa disappears. It seems that it reappears when besieged is over, even if you killed it lol.

Anyway whats the point of those bstmen HNMs? You can enter in their throne room by trading the keys and attack them.

According to FFXIclopedia, Gulool Ja Ja drops Ja Ja's Chestplate (an item to desynth I guess?) and Volunteer's Ring (Magic Def. Bonus+3 Besieged: MP recovered while healing +5, Lv.70 All Jobs). Gurfurlur drops Mercenary's Ring (VIT+5 Besieged: Physical damage taken -5%, Lv.70 All Jobs). Medusa is only reported to drop Medusa's Armlet (desynth item? who knows...). Beating Medusa gets you the title Gorgonstone Sunderer, though; not sure if the other 2 give titles.

Anyway, Gulool Ja Ja was taken down in Besieged once before on our server. I was there when it happened; we got 1280 exp (well, those who got max points). I dunno if Gurfurlur or Medusa has ever been taken out though; I remember one time when we had Gurfurlur down to like 15% or so before he warped.
