Gun fired in NASA building

Yes, it's not nearly as high as handguns, because you can't exactly walk around discretely with an assault weapon, or explosives. The only thing that'll change is the amount of illegal handgun murders going up to 100%. I wouldn't be suprised if 60% or so of those handgun murder averages posted were already illegals, so thats not a whole lot of change there.

Not one of the things I put in my post, but look at SMG's.

Hmm, looks small and efficient to me, but wasnt used at all in any mass killing, when it would be the most ideal.

Im not saying you, or anyone else here is complaining about the way the government and its laws work, but for those that do, this is a good example. There are ways to start fixing problems, but theyre denied, then the problems never even get a second look at. Then after that, they complain that nothing ever gets donr about firearms, and people using them for murder.

Does anyone even realize that a lot of the crimes are commited by people between the ages of 10 and 20-30? People that I really doubt would even have access to these "hidden caches of weapons that gangs store" or the blackmarket. No, these people go to the local gun store or steal them from their parents. Yeah, the parents are to blame for that, but the government cant do anything to make parents more responsible, can they? Better to remove the weapons from all people, so very few of the irresponsible will have access, and as a result, the dumb children, college picked-on kids, and gangs will have less access as well.

I really dont understand how removing an instrument of destruction will not lower murder rates, I really dont. If you give someone a knife and a gun, they are going to choose the gun over the knife. People will think more about killing with a knife, than with a gun.

yup, my brother, and my uncle. I think Im qualified to comment on this. I think its awfully funny, though, that people seem to comment against me, just to do it. Im being quoted, and told Im wrong about a fact, and then those people turn around and say prison is a day care. It sounds like you guys just have some kind of personal problem with me, and thats fine, but stop telling people that facts are wrong, just because you dont like them. Thats just... Well, blind, and retarded.

And idk what prisons youre talking about, but they must not have been actual prisons, bub. I can vouch for that

Skaw said prisions shouldn't be a daycare.

You said lol, prisions aren't the problem.

I responded with my story about my family members going to prision and how much of a day care it really was.

You come back and say, "Well those weren't really prisions then, I KNOW, trust me"

That sounds pretty blind and retarded to me. Maybe if you didn't keep saying dumb things, people wouldn't keep pointing out whats wrong with it.

Sorry for triple post, but i feel its necessary.

Did you just skip over the part about how taking away guns from everyone won't stop the people who already get guns illegally, the type of guns that most crimes are committed with. Taking away the legal guns would just take the guns away from people that wouldn't do anything illegal with them, for the most part. The VT shootings happened with registered guns, so the police knew everything that they needed to know about the guy who bought them, but he wasn't worried about going to jail so he didn't have to worry about the serial codes on the guns.

Thats the thing about illegal guns, the serial number is scratched off/ not registered/ registered to someone that doesn't exist. So the police have very little idea about the shooter, so its much harder to track down.

I dont exactly know how my uncle fared, because I didnt visit him, and he killed himself a few years ago so it doesnt really matter.

But my brother, whom was in for MINOR offenses, was put in a room, no windows, no bed, no toilet, no lights. Only hole in the entire room was the door, and a tinted window. He was kept in this room for two days without food or water.

Yeah, sounds like some day care to me.

Edit: But then again, I live in what people would consider "hick country," and everyone knows just how uneducated and cruel we are. I guess we live up to it, lol. In fact, I think Kentucky was one of the last states to give up the electric chair (in 1998 )

"In the states of Kentucky and Tennessee, the electric chair has been retired except for those whose capital crimes were committed prior to legislated dates in 1998."

The guns were said to have their numbers filed off. How they knew everything about him? He did mail a video tape confession to them.

No, I didnt skip over it, Im saying not all crimes are commited with illegally owned guns, which appears to be what you believe. Do you not understand that you cant fix a problem if you dont start somewhere?? People that get guns illegally can be found, and the source of the weapons can be found as well, in time. Dont you understand that if someone gets guns illegally from a known source, and they know how, then anyone can know where those guns come from, authorities or not.

And now we are making progress, because you are baking up your points now instead of just saying, "Hey i know, trust me!"

Good job.

I knew about the mail to the network, but i didn't know about the serial numbers, my bad. I'll have to re-read the articles, because i thought that because of the serial numbers, was how they figured out where and when he bought both guns.

Not what i believe. Don't put words in my mouth please.

Do you understand that going to the most extreme solution is probably the worst things you can do right off the bat with a problem like this?

Yes i understand that if one person can get an illegal gun, than anyone can. But thats a pretty big crime, if you want to go through all the dangers of finding a gun dealer be my guest. Thats why police can't pursue them as much as they would like. They can't get any real solid proof, and if the tinest thing goes wrong everyone could die. Do you understand that?

Sounds more like solitary confinment to me. He was probably being a jackass in the "daycare" part and got his ass locked up.

or maybe peoples idea's of prisons are purely local, or they go by second-hand information.

Just to toss in a quick comment about the overthrowing the government if needed argument:

The actual way to overthrow the government requires that there is 0 violence. If enough of the country decides that the current government isn't working as the constitution intended, the US military is required to defend us in the reconfiguring process.

I'm all for the legality of guns for my own reasons, though I've never fired a real one myself. I just wanted to make it clear that it is not the deterrent for legislation in the previous posts.
