I'm playing it on the old workhorse (xbox)
Graphics are sweet, but no where near the 360 shots I've seen.

I can't put this thing down. I really love how they threw political correctness out the f@#kin' window and tried to shoot (pun intended) for as much realism as possible. Well, kinda hard to know whats real or not I guess, unless we can find someone 200 yrs old to elaborate. You won't find a single reference to "Native Americans". one guy downright called them Injuns. And the Apaches in the game are presented well as opponents to be feared with real goals of thier own.
I guess somewhere along the line from the screenies I've seen, I'll get my fair time on the Apache side as well. I totally look forward to that.

I really like all the side missions and activities. So far I've hunted down outlaws, fought off bandits, hunted buffalo and mined for gold. You can literally blow off the story for days with all the side junk. Pretty cool.
 
Yeah, I saw the previews of this game in a gaming mag I read frequently (PSM for those with inquiring minds) and my first thought was "Hmm... a Fable-esque game set in the Wild West, fucking badass!"

Glad to hear it's more or less living up to my expectations... now to actually get my hands on a copy..
 
I've been following this since I heard it was developed by Neversoft. I've never played a shitty game from them (even though they only have the Tony Hawk series, Spider-Man, Apocalypse, and now Gun). At first I was skeptical, because the E3 trailer was just the word Gun to some music. But after I found out it was a wild west game, I was sold.

Rented it last night at Blockbuster. I'm liking it so far, although I find targeting to be a pain in the ass sometimes.
 
I cant wait to go to my friends house, get real blasted and play the shit out of this game. Looks so awsome. :-D.
