PS3 Gundam vs Gundam NEXT Coming to PS3!

According to Hong Kong game mag Game Wave, arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next is coming to the PS3. The title has not yet been officially announced by Namco Bandai.

The title is the sequel to arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam.

The last rumor that Hong Kong magazine Game Wave reported was the PS3 Slim would be debuting before the console was officially announced.

Hmm...

Probably be fun. I always have a wee problem with these games though... With rare exceptions, the beam weapons never live up to the power they're depicted having in the various shows.

Sure, it makes a lot more sense from a gameplay perspective to not have the one-shot-one-kill weapons (at least one-kill on weaker mobile suits), but it always feels like there's something missing to me.

I'll probably buy it and enjoy it anyway, but that's just my pet peeve.

Whilst playing as Heero in Wing Zero in Dynasty warriors gundam...there are combos with him where he does the killer beams...they don't have that much of a range though, but I do understand where you're coming from...especially since Virtue is heavy on the guns...

Zeonic Front was one of the rare games where beam weapons were pretty much as powerful as they're depicted in the shows.

There was one other, but I can't recall what it was called, where the heavy beam weapons were pretty powerful, though not one-hit kills on Zakus. Still, they weren't bad.

In a game like this, though, it admittedly doesn't make much sense, particularly when you have ridiculous suits like the Wing Zero and Gundam X, or even more ridiculous suits like the Nu Gundam.

In any case though, I'm pretty sure more Gundams are gonna be added. For example:
