Anyone seen this?

I loved it! The flashback start was awesome for half of the series. When it came back to the present it was a bit iffy, but I thought it ended very well.

And so very sad:wacko:

What did other people think about it? D:

The first episode made me not bother watching it for ~6 months. I kept hearing all the positive reviews and made myself watch a couple more episodes and yes it is good. The middle is the real meat of the story. The more sci-fi parts were a detriment to an otherwise great anime.

Ya lol, the first episode wasn't that great because it was part of the present sci fi stuff.

I went back later and got immediately hooked XD

Yeah, I remember this being one of the first and last anime dvds I ever bought. First disc was awesome, unfortunately I never really got back into anime as much. Then about three years later I saw the last episode of the series on G4 really late at night on one of those after hour random anime show things they used to do.
