Over the past couple of years I've seen them come and go. Pcl, Hongmo, Bimaoshua, Newjack, Newelbort, Flanna, Dybyeth, Elizabeth and Dickens...

All of them are gone from the mines now with the last sweep of Bans except Elizabeth and Dickens. These 2 are strange in their mining habits. They Never Deviate from their course, they don't adjust their course in accordance with other miners (ie: turning around when they see me coming from a lone mining point), they totally Ignore 6 mining points altogether, they never go upstairs, they don't ever stop, they don't ever leave, and they never sell anything.

There have been a couple of people selling Darksteel ingots that don't mine. Matter of fact, the only place I've seen either of them lately is out near altepa. Bstkey and Bimaoshua.

Would it be possible to make a bot that walks around an area mining? I've never seen or heard of a bot that moves. They onlly use abilities and actions from what I've seen. Of course I'm not a cheater so I don't know much about 3rd party programs, except windower lets me listen to music and check qcdn.

You misunderstand (or ignored the majority of my post). They aren't Cheating really, they are just methodically flawed and yet they continue, endlessly. They avoid dropping in the hole and they avoid going past a door that can be closed. They pause at mining points that aren't up. They walk to the point where they are in range of the mining point wether it's there or not.

Back in the day, I could make Newjack, Newelbort and even Bimaoshua cuss me in chinese till I almost understood them. These guys don't say anything ever. They don't flee hack (or even flee for that matter). They don't warp hack, they don't use Nin boots. Just walking endlesly in the same circle.

The circle will yield no result to them after so long if noone else is mining because all the points will just sit at the 6 spawns they don't ever check.

From what I have seen, and it is rare, there are bots, or scripts really, that can walk you from one place to another. I doubt it is used much since so much as bumping a mob or another player would probably throw you off, but I swear the gilsellers going for Simmy used to use one to walk through Crawlers nest back in the day.

It would really just require an exact recording of the input from your keyboard to walk from zoneline to zoneline. The possibility to fail would be incredibly high though. If they were doing it in the mines, they may have found an easy path that they could just run a loop on. Can you fuck them up by getting in their way as they run from point to point?

If that works, I'd imagine you'd have your answer.

The guys I saw in CN used to get stuck on a cluster of lizards. Some would make it through, but others would run into a wall, then suddenly change dirrection, hit another wall, make an odd turn to no where then run to the opposite wall and get stuck there til they slid into a tunnel where they would bounce around between the walls there for about 5 minutes. Then all movement would stop for a couple minutes. Shortly after, the character would walk perfectly over and through the tunnel he should have gone down dodging the lizards and crawlers accordingly.

Eiizabeth and Dickens make me laugh, they are just too easy to beat at mining, one thing i find odd though is that sometimes Eiizabeth will do a /nod two times in a row towards a mining point if she sees one. Very strange indeed.

I would think it would be fairly simple for someone who was well-versed in such things. The mining points are always in the same spots so it would just be a matter of creating way points in the bot script and then the /targetnpc /item "Pickaxe" <t> command. I would think the most complicated part of the process would be making sure your /targetnpc only targeted the Mining Point and not the worms, skeles, ghosts, flies, etc. Also that ??? for the MNK AF1 always pissed me off when I was standing in the in-between spot because it would always target it, instead of the Mining Point since it was the closest NPC to me.

Whoever programmed it could replaced the .dats of all the enemies with untargetable .dats similar to the ones people replace darters with to increase their chances to claim fafnir.

I heard they fixed that over a year ago. If you end up running into one your game crashes, or somthing.

Thats if you remove the .dat. Not replace it with an empty one.

Yea you can. Easily done, familiar with programs that literaly hijack your PC and use your mouse and keyboard, if you know what you are doing you can time an entire routine in.

the best thing to do is .. to sent a tell to both of them and wait

if they didnt answer ,

call the GM on them

Aannarnold and Bertiecamp do the EXACT same thing in Oldton Movopolis. Problem is, GM can't nail them because they come back and check on their characters every 10 minutes or so (to desynth moblin stuff, craft silver, etc). The thing is, man, once you know what they do, it is easy as pie to beat them. With Wlegs and flee, I can stay ahead of them both and easily nail their mining points before they even get to them. Since they're bots, they're stupid and never adjust their mining course based on what real miners do.

That said, they still mine 24/7 and the constant (however inefficient) influx of plat, gold, darksteel, cotton thread, glass fiber, silver, iron (sometimes steel), and brass drives down the price on those goods. Greater supply = lower price.

Why do I still mine there? Because no where else is free of gilsellers. Every last valuable NM has gilseller campers. Every major farming area has gilseller bots that do the same thing as Bertiecamp. There are gilsellers in The Sanctuary of Zi'tah that do nothing but farm cuttings. There's EVEN a gilseller team tha does nothing but farm Orcish Troopers for the rare Gold Orcmask (to desynth gold ingots). There's even a gilseller who does nothing but kill bees on the hill in North Gustaberg (near Sophie spawn) for bee chips.

Moral of the story? Gilbuyers can go #%&& yourselves.

Annaarnold and Charleschild would do the same in Yughott Grotto, where they would also check to see if Ashmaker was up.
