just tried logging in to my account. havent been on for about 4 days. i get the pw and/or secure ID are incorrect. not sure if i was hacked though. i had a little issue with my secure ID that im hoping, caused my inability to log in.

what happened was, pressing the button didnt display a number. i tapped it on my desk thinking it was probably a dislodged battery. after doing that, it worked. however, i cant log in. ffxiah doesnt show activity on AH by me. my account doesnt have much to offer as far as gear/gil anyhow.

has anyone else had an issue like this?

That tap probably reset the token's internal clock, it it now useless because SE will not let you resync a token, if I'm remembering their Token ToS correctly...

Disable the token on-site, order a new one and go tokenless for a few weeks...

This is odd, I get the same problems as poster. I didnt do anything except logoff last night and I try to relogin and I get that message O.o. Poster lemme know if taking the token off the main site fixes your problem please.

I had a weird set of circumstances that worried me a bit, too. I crashed, had to reboot my whole computer and when I tried to relog into XI, it gave me password errors. I logged into the SE website just fine, the one that requires the one-time password and all, but still couldn't get into XI.

I changed my SE password, waited 10 minutes and then tried again. Worked fine.

unfortunately, cant go tokenless. i cant do anything that requires entering that one time PW. it is reassuring to know that im not the only one.

...you don't need the token to deactivate it.

Q&A quotes from SE's web site

Q. What should I do if I stop using the Square Enix security token?
A. You can remove your Square Enix security token from the account using the Square Enix Account Management System website, enabling you to log in without a one-time password.
http://account.square-enix.com/manual/en/about.html

Need to contact thier Information Center.

too bad it doesnt work. has three fields to enter info into....square enix id, PW, and one time PW

Troubleshooting
I can't log in.
Check whether there are any mistakes in the ID or password. If you're sure there are no mistakes and you still can't log in, please contact the Information Center.

If you click on the link at the bottom of the page for Contact Us (North America), it will open a new page. On that page, click the You can send mail form inquiries from here link, then click Open mail form. You need your SE ID and your POL ID, but no token information.

ISSUE FIXED. contacted CS, they unlinked the secure ID from the account. at first, when trying to log in, it didnt let work. just went into settings and took out all information that was part of the secure ID. since i had already known to set the "use security token" to not use, the issue was with the username still being entered in the field directly above it. just deleted it and saved. logged right in after that

actually, what this does, is get you to a page that has you submit your email info so they can send you a link to where you go to change your pw. once you get that email, you click the link and it gives you 5 fields. security question, security question answer, new PW, confirm new PW, and one time PW.
if your account is linked with a secure id, you HAVE TO put it in. only way to get by it is have CS take the secure id off of the acct. which is what they did for me

I was able to fix my errors with calling the info center, my one time password worked fine. I have no clue why my passwords reset but the guy on the phone fixed all. Call them at 18587907529. The guy got me up and running in 10 minutes.

This is happening to me right now, keeps saying that my ID pw or token pw is wrong

Had to go and reset my SE PW, was really annoying

I had this happen once. I wound up logging in on my spouses PC and it worked fine. Then I tried to use it on mine again and it worked.

Happened to me earlier, went to POL's website, changed my pw through there, and then logged in fine.
