this may be old, but i have not heard about it until tonight while watching fox it kept fritzing out and flashing an anonymous logo...so i looked up what it meant thinking it was some sort of ad or glitch at the station...only to go...wow wtf.

Thats what got my attention. When chasym said it freaked him out. Anoynomus to me doesn't seem much different than any other hacker though really. Just more dedicated I guess you can say. Just doesn't seem as threatening as other hackers I've read about. Stealing people's IDs, robbing bank accounts and buisness is more threatening to me than bomb threats and hacking myspace. But Fox did say they had thousands of passwords and who knows what those passwords go too. I met someone in my English class almost 2 years ago that said she had her ID stolen through an email hack. I dunno how so I'm not gonna jump the gun and say shes internet stupid but the stories she was telling about going through the process of getting her ID back was pretty horrifying. It took her 4 years to get it only somewhat straigtened out.

Except...Fox news just tried to dramatize everything as usual and Anonymous isn't a group of hackers, it's just an alias used by most people on 4chan.

The greatest part was the reporter saying that they were from "secret" sites. Because we all know 4chan as the underground hacking site that nobody knows about. What was the deal with the exploding van too?

also: there is no way, under any circumstances that anonymous would have hacked into fox news, interrupting their broadcast. it's never happened, and never will. there is no one on 4chan that would do that.
