anyone here play HL2? and manage to finish the game? cuz im really confused on how the ending went...

Ending went: Gordon defeats Breen as he attempts to activate the portal, the crap hits the fan when things start blowing up and G-Man comes in to save his precious bargaining chip for another day.

According to Rumours, theres an expansion in the works. Kliener announces the Combine defeat.

Was a fun game. Skaw got it pretty well. G-Man whisks Gordon off for his next battle. Expansion supposdly follows Alex after the combines fall. The aliens the combine were working for are not happy about this situation.

<- hasnt played HL1.

G-man is? (God?)

The suit with the briefcase. No one knows his motives, but seemingly, he's good since he drops Gordon in situations(Or rather, drops situations on Gordon) that end up saving the world.

Ok, so the G-man, he drops Gordon off, to save the world. HL2, failed imo to give out the back story of everything. Why are there giant Vagina looking cats running around. Why is Breeman doing all this. What does that damn (A) sign mean. What is this "Black Mesa" they keep talking about in HL2? Do i need to play HL1 to udnerstand all this?

Black Mesa was a research facility in New Mexico.
Gordon Freeman, Eli Vance, Dr. Kliener, and Barney Calhoon(?I know his last name sounds like that, but unsure of spelling)(Blue Shift Expansion Pack for HL1) were all employees there, and Breen was the Administrator(Though, you didn't even know of him until HL2)

Gordon caused a resonance cascade during an experiment, which started up unstable portals to Xen, the borderworld, bringing in Headcrabs, Vortigaunts(Then controlled by the aliens, friendly now,) and other alien life forms. The entire game starts off as just trying to reach the surface to escape, but then you find out the Government sends the military to cover things up, so you and your plucky scientist and security guard buddies have to deal with Aliens and Grunts.

Eventually, Gordon finds another lab with a working teleporter to Xen. He goes through, busts up the headhoncho and G-Man takes him away.

Half-Life2 takes place some time after Gordons disappearance. The Combine comes in and opresses the human race in everyway possible. Low and Behold, right at the begining of an uprising against Breen and the Combine, Gordon Freeman shows up, and well, the rest is history.

Half-Life: Blue Shift was Barney's storyline during the events at Black Mesa, there was also another expansion, Opposing Force, in which you played Colonel Adrian Shepard on the Military side of things. You were to hunt down Gordon Freeman, but yet another Alien force comes and screws things up further. G-Man also recruits Shepard, and I hope to high heaven Valve releases another game in his story arc.

The Lambda symbol you see all over the place is actually a reference back to Half-Life 1, the Lab with the Teleporter was The Lambda Complex, and was the site of the victory against the alien races. So thats why the resistance movement against the Combine also uses the Lambda symbol.

Half-Life 2: Aftermath is due out sometime soon. They don't have a release date, but they're saying within the next few months. Hopefully. And it takes place right where Half-Life 2 ended. And this expansion is being done by Valve themselves, instead of with the original Half-Life mods, Blue Shift and Opposing Force, where they had other people do it.

I also want them to hurry and release Day of Defeat: Source.

You know what got me? after playing the game. I realize how the fuck did Barney know Gordon was coming? I mean the G-man drops him off at the train station of the Prisoner Registration place >.>

Also, the expansion is suppose to be about Alex and her dad after HL2. Im wondering how this will happen, hence Alex and her dad was killed while G-man saved Gordon. I guess we will have to wait and see.

He didn't. He just so happened to be working as a mole in the Civil Protection branch of the Combine, and he just happened to notice Gordon.

I believe either Dr. Kleiner or Barney said that they were expecting Gordon to show up one of these days. But yes, main part of it was that Barney was working as a mole.
