Only three days away (if Valve doesn't unlock it in Steam before then). I'm getting very excited, since I have waited a long while for this game.

Who's getting it?

(Expect full report on the game from me on Tuesday night)
 
pre-ordered it a long time ago.. but, not sure if im actually going to get it
 
Have my Collectors Edition pre-ordered. Can't wait to play it.
 
gona get it tommorow morning, comes out tommorow, but no store is opening at 12 for me to buy it, :( stupid australia

Well.. I'm still not sure if I want to go pick up a copy, and whats worse is I have no money to do so even if I did. Damn bills.. damn you to hell!
 
I played it for a few hours last night, and it was great. I'd like to write a small review of what I've played so far, but I don't know where to start...
 
So, who else desires to *visceral description of violence inflicted on Valve employees removed*?

I mean for those of us without pre-made Steam accounts who are trying to squeeze into their horrendously overloaded registration server. I want their heads for doing this to us!!!

Yeah. I read that a few other people had that trouble. When it was unlocking all my Half-Life 2 files from the pre-loading, it took about a half hour because so many other people were doing the same. I had trouble connecting to Steam earlier today. Just keep trying every once in a while. It'll eventually work.
 
i reserved it and whatnot, but with halo 2 just released, don't plan on getting in it for about a month. splitting time between halo 2 and ffxi is hard enough.
 
Just beat it. The last two levels are insanely cool.

Now I just hope someone starts working on Half-Life 3...

They're going to do Half-Life 3. Valve already said that they're going to. They just want to work on some other projects first, such as Team Fortress 2.

I think I'm pretty close to the end of the game now. I don't want to beat it though. I want it to go on forever. :(

Sweet, I want the Gman to have more screen time in the 3rd one, he's cool.

lol, I felt the exact same way. I was excited yet very sad when I beat it. :cry:

Are you in the Citadel yet? Thats when the real fun starts. The Super Gravity Gun is so damn cool, that it's pretty much impossible to express how cool it is .
 
I just beat the game. I'll say it again: I didn't want it to end.

Now to wait patiently for Half-Life 3 (I didn't really wait patiently at times for Half-Life 2, so I'm afraid...).
 
It took them almost 6 years to release Half-Life 2, I would be thrilled if they got Half-Life 3 out in half that time. But I doubt they will. :cry:

Well, I think it might be less if they run into less problems than they did with the development of Half-Life 2. They planned it for over a year, and then they had to develop the engine, and a lot of other things happened through the development, one of which was the hacking of Valve, which delayed the game another year.

If they don't run into as many problems, I'm saying that it'll be released within a little less time. I'm also wondering if they're going to make a new engine for it or not...
 
From the information I've gathered in the past day, I expect it to be out in 2-3 years. I doubt they would make a new engine, this one still has plenty of life in it.

Check out this scan from PC Gamer on Half-Life 3. (UK edition, this was never put in the NA magazine :cry:)
