Half naked women in avatars/signatures

I believe the policy is pretty clear, no porn.
If in doubt, check the definition of pornography.

Other than that users are pretty much free to do with their avatars and sigs as they please, until things get out of hand and I send them a PM about their avatar or sig. Other QCDN users have the same option, you can send someone a PM stating your concerns, or you can send me a PM stating your concerns.

QCDN is not a democracy, there isn't going to be a sig-approval-committee, or any other kind of public voting. Users have a multitude of options through vBulletin to select the content they want to view. It was previously pointed out that sigs and avatars can be ignored altogether. Individual users can be ignored as well should need be.

I do want to point out that there are cultural and physiological differences between people in different parts of the world. At my place of employment I have a lot of contact with Japanese and Chinese. In my experience both genders tend to look younger than they are.
 
Works for me. There just isn't anything about sigs and avatars in the official announcements for the site. I'll just board-blacklist anyone whose pics are annoying I suppose. Thanks for clarifying.
 
As right as your are Eili, I've seen worse on t.v. before 10PM.

I really do need to delete my sig though - sculli asked me to not have .gifs in sigs/avatars.

Meh, IMO someoen who needs to have scantily clad women in avatars and sigs = desperately lonely computer nerd who can't talk to real women, in life....or someone who is SO concerned that they will be perceived as gay, that they MUST openly demean women any chance they can get. (aka...they ARE gay - not that there is anything wrong with that)

And any of the pictures of scantily clad women I have ever posted, have been of myself.

I just posted my personal opinion and distaste with what I've seen lately here, that's all. You can like it or dislike it, respect or disrespect my opinion all you want, that's the beauty of it. We don't have to agree, we don't have to even get a long, so long as you read what I have said that's good enough for me :P

The right to self-demeaning comedy is something I exercise often so I see your point.

I'm in a library right now - and it is winter - I can honestly tell you I see 5 women dressed in a way which is just as provacative as my jiggly bouncy boobie sig.

It's just ridiculous that there are problems with 1 picture of 1 attractive asian woman with 50% of her breasts showing when I can walk outside of my house and see 50% of someone's breasts at any given moment.

Also the fact that you can have something extremely sexual in your sig and yet be taken aback by an image showing someone's skin in only a mildly sexual manner (as sexual as say - a victorias secret add) is kind of odd.

I can walk into any mall in america and walk past a victoria's secret store with a 20 x 20 poster of a woman more naked and in a much more suggestive pose, and this is somehow ok or something. I can turn on the t.v. and see just as much tit as that picture at any time I want. I can watch a 30 minute friends episode where the entire plotline is "That's one of the 30 women I've banged this past year and now she's doing another chick wtfbbq" and listen to them talk about condom troubles and sodomy.

See my point?

I see your point, I just find it ridiculous.

The Asian boob picture is far more offensive than any Victoria's Secret ad I have seen, but whatever - if you are one of those people who needs to see as many boobs as possible to fill your day - everywhere that you can, so be it. Rock on. I just don't see why it is needed everywhere I guess.

Any who said I was "taken aback" in any way shape or form? Do I sound shocked or appalled in my post? I wasonly voicing my opinion on those who need to get off on pics like this on a damned video game site.

Yes I make overly sexual comments a lot - does this mean my opinion isn't sound?

And it is hard to believe that "girls at your library" are dressed w/ the bottom of thier boobs sticking out of thier top - but whatever.

Honestly what do you gals want? By the age of 16 most of these poor boys have seen so much T&A on TV, its a little hard not to express that in every opportunity in life. Thus the avatars/sigs.

There used to be guidelines for avatars and sigs, but those related to file size and image dimension limitations.

Recently I have been asking people by PM to remove animated sigs and avatars as they interfere with board usuability on some computers (i.e.: display totally lags).

Sigs and avatars have never really been a problem thus there is no written announcement about it. I am not a fan of a lot of rules. A few simple rules are easy to enforce. For the most part people are good at using common sense when it comes to what they can and can not do. The few that are unable to do so are dealt with on an individual basis without to bother the rest with additional rules.

BTW, GIF files are fine , just not animated ones. ;)

I'm happy with that fact that the boss has participated in this thread and that he is speaking to people individually. If you have the problem, remind yourself who you are in relation to making decisions QCDN should care for or listen to.

If you've never seen a victoria's secret ad more suggestive than that then you must have never been to a mall or even receive their mailer.

Nudity is one thing, suggestive nudity is another.

Example: While I was living in germany I saw one add of a naked woman resting her head on another naked woman's nicely rounded bare ass. The add was for toilet paper.

The other day I was walking through the mall and I saw a 20 foot picture of a lingerie clad busty babe with her hair flowing, sultry eyeliner, thong panties - nowhere near as naked as the aforementioned ad - with this "I will F your brains out" look on her face and her body all contorted into some sexy and provocative pose.

Of those two - the latter is the one that would give 9/10 heterosexual men an erection, but there is far less nudity.

Likewise - placing a picture of a asian girl dancing about with an ipod and have 50% of her breasts exposed is nowhere near as suggestive as a comment about oral sex. I'm not lashing out - I just find it odd that someone would say "Those who place half nude people in their sig are desperate losers" yet have a remark made towards them vividly referencing oral sex. Which is more offensive? Mine could easily be an underwear or ipod ad (granted only in europe) - yours is arguably triple X.

Actually yeah I'd say so - it's kind hypocritical.

Question: If I was a woman would you have any problem with my former signature?

(PS: I'm not trying to cut you down at all, I've spoken with you before and I find you quite nice and genuine :D, I'm just having some friendly debate)
