I kinda came up with a neat, cool idea for my ls to do during halloween night, and a lot of us agree to do this, yet I'm not revealing it outside the ls, but if you wish to join in with this idea or wonder what it is and join, you can send me a /t or pm here sometime for a linkpearl to join in with this halloween idea.

While I'm discussing about Halloween here in FFXI, do anyone else here have any ideas for something to do during Halloween in the game? I really hope they'll have some cool and freaky costumes for us, and it'd be neat if some houses were unlocked with NPCs giving out candies for trick or treating, but I doubt that'd happen.

Share with us halloween in the game or even hallowen irl.
 
Screw playing FFXI on Halloween, I'm going trick or treating. Never too old for free candy.
 
I stopped trick or treating since I was 12... that was about 6 years ago, so I'd rather play FFXI and see what it's like during halloween since I only started a couple months ago or so.

Hopefully I won't be stuck handing out candy here though, if I am, I'll probably just ignore the door :P Stuff my face with candy that we buy to hand out and play FFXI!

Hahaha. I'm 17, and I've been trick or treating every year. And I'll probably be going to a friend's party or something as well. Fun is always had on Haloween. If I somehow get extremelly bored and end up on FFXI, I'd like to see what this even thing is all about that you're setting up. But that's doubtful.
 
Alright, I'll tell you this. It will most likely take place outside in Lower Jeuno or possibly outside in Batallia downs or something, so check around there. As for the time, I'm not exactly sure when..

Yeah...Shouldnt be playing ffxi on any holidays. Except maybe Christmas.
 
Wait, since when was halloween a holiday? Halloween is just a ordinary day and then you just go out and trick or treat or whatever at night. Last Halloween I was working and handing out candies at work and stuff, since I work in an indoor amusement park, but since this year it lands on a Monday I should be home, and won't have to work, and since I'm still a new FF player I'd like to try the game out on that day.

I'm sure a thousand or 2 will still be playing FF on halloween night.
 
HUGE TIP: Stock up on foods now. I've played this game for 2 Halloween seasons and SE holds the same event each year. Each year you follow around monster NPCs throughout the city and trade them a sweet. Sometimes you get turned into a monster, others you get a rare/ex event item. As far as I know its random which will occur, but the odds of getting an even item are low. However, due to the lack of sweets on AH, the item get bought up fast and the price gets marked up quickly by crafters/AH whores so if you need food for exp parties buy it before the event starts. If you plan on doing the event, I suggest not buying food from AH and instead buying fruit from a vendor. Pamamas or Oranges work well and you can get these from an NPC for about 10 gil instead of shelling out 500-10,000 gil on a pie. Supposedly switching the items you trade to the NPC improves the rate an item is given to you, but I have seen no difference and the best bet is to just spam trade macros for hours on end till you get the good staffs.
 
at this point i just hope to be playing the game by that time. i'll have fenrir chase you around the server lavi for halloween, if u like. :twisted:
 
Don't worry about not being home on Halloween, the event usually lasts a week or two.
The only special thing that happened on Halloween day last year was that the GMs came out with monster skins and ran around town.

If you are older than 12 or 13 then you better not come to my house on Halloween. Trick or treating is for little kids.

If you are 16 years old, you shouldn't be dressing up, begging for candy. You should have a job so you can buy your own candy.

Halloween = Parties, trick or treating and an excuse to dress up as ninjas :P
 
Always carry a SuperSoaker full of egg yolk on Halloween. If they refuse to give you candy simply hose them down with your SuperSoaker and run away giggling feverishly.
 
man i am 17 and i love trick or treating. I mean come on free candy and you make people think wtf is wrong is with this kid. ^^ My mom is dressing up as a GIANT penis -.-;;. But what about gate night is anyone doing that???? And for those who don't know what it is its when you go out the night before halloween and cause dmg to windows and tp peoples houses, egg them, or paint ball guns^^.
