So here it is one day after my 23rd birthday and I find myself jobless...
Now you'd think I'd have some sort of immunity being that I'm on a week vacation and all, but somehow, life doesn't work out that way.
I had a job that I loved to do. Rock climbing is a passion of mine and somehow I had hit all the right buttons to get in the door and was managing at a local climbing gym. Teaching people technique classes, how to belay, showing kids a good time, the works. I had even started doing web design for them on a regular basis (what I plan to go to college for). It was beautiful. Now.. not so much.
Apparently I was "talking/being hostile" to the owners. Apparently the definition of truthful was switched with hostile and no one deemed it worthy to inform me. I used to think that being a manager at a place of business was being honest and respectful in helping the business grow while also looking out for the well-being of it's employees. Obviously I was wrong, and what I should've been doing is blowing smoke up the owners' asses and sucking their tyrannical cocks.
All they wanted to do was put me and my other employees down and tell us how bad of a job we were doing and when I spoke up they either didn't listen, thought it was a joke, or flipped it on me in some nonsensical fashion. Last time I checked it was also NOT okay to publically berate your employees in front of other people.
So on the verge of fruststrated tears today I tried to let things go and suck it up, being that I love what I do and just not who I do it for, but things couldn't be let go. I receive a call shortly after the first phone call of being told off by them only for them to give me the run-around about firing me. When I heard the words "move on" I knew it was over and asked them if they wanted me to leave or give them 2 weeks. Boom, fired.
Happy fucking birthday to me..
