Hardest boss you've come across.

It depends on your lvl too. I fought him at lvl 42 and it was just a long fight with his god damn renew bullshit. Never died or anything. Just took a lot of time to take him down without quickenings. If you were low lvl i'd try to melee him to about 40% or so then quickening him to death.

Gilgamesh Version 2, at level 50 with highest char, backup 3 chars were all 28-43 range. 2.5 hour fight (no exiting allowed) but I won :D

The Bomb King is giving me a bitch of a time.. anyone have any advice how to take this guy down? I don't have fire shields >.> He spawns little bombs which are easy enough to take down with warp motes but even when he's by himself I can't seem to get em
Black Hole.

Hit him with the Black Hole concurence. If you dont kill him in one shot, run out and save, and try again. He's stupidly easy because you can run out and hit the crystal which is right there.

Also, before you kill him, you can abuse the zone by stealing from him infinite times. Just set one person with the Thiefs Cuffs accessory, and make thier #1 Gambit "Foe: Highest HP -> Steal" and just zone back and forth stealing from him.

You can also zone to Nabudis which has the zodiac spear after you beat him and you can get it early in the game. I was only lv 36-38ish when I got it. The mobs are all upper 40s so you just basically have to run your tail off the whole time while getting to it, but it is possible. Now all I have to do is learn it on the license board and I basically have the strongest weapon and I'm probably only halfway done with the game. Only downside is I feel like I cheated the game now.

Stine has been getting raped twice or three times daily by the White Flan.

Any thoughts?

Skip it for now, get more lvls, go back when you're ready since it's an optional hunt. That's actually what it turns out I have to do for the bomb king b/c I'm just not high enuf lvl yet >< I tried running in beating him down *ALMOST* to death just to see em renew himself thus forcing me to hit the save crystal for hp/mp, but all that does is give him full life when I re-zone ; ; Besides when you get to the glacier area (which isn't too far from where you are I imagine) bats in the temple where the next esper Mateus is drop Viking cloaks (immune to water) which will help you kill it SO much faster if one of your party members is constantly immune to waterga

Bomb King wasn't to bad. I just took him down to just a little over 1/8 of his health and I unloaded a quickening chain. I didn't get very high on the chain for I only did about 9k something on it but it still was enough to finish him off. I was about lv 37 38ish when I beat him but 40s would probably make it easier. I thought he was a regular boss at first so I just fought it. Later I found out it was optional.

How do you get it? :o

Well after you beat the Bomb King, take the left trail at the split which takes you to Necrohol of Nabudis. Once you get inside cast protect and shell and just run run run. Unless your a high level then just go through it normally. The first area you just keep heading in the west direction and then eventually the path turns south and wraps around so just follow that to the exit. After that run northeast up to the third zone called Cloister of the Highborn. Right from the zone, make a right and then go left which should take you towards the northern direction. Once you go north take the first left which will be a small circular room off to the side. It's a small little area on your map. Once your in there, there will be rows and rows of chests. The Zodiac Spear is in the second chest from the left in the row closest to you as you enter the room. There will be mobs following you so opening this chest is quite difficult or at least it was for me anyway. I couldn't fight them because I was too low level. If your leveled up then just fight them if you haven't already.

what level is he fighting it? what magics does he have? is Larsa there? personally I kept vaan having it turned away from Belthiar and Fran (who had ranged stuff) so he was the only one hit. Berserk > White Flan. Berserk it and it won't cast waterga (though berserk doesn't always stick). Also be sure to blind it, that will really help :P Berserk + Blind and white flan is cake.

Plus pounding it with firega helps too. Does about upper 1k to 2k damage. Not sure if it's immune to oil or not for I forgot to try it. But if it works then it should do 3k-4k per hit. Belias does good damage to it too.

I didn't have firaga when I fought it :P but Fire or whatever lower one it was.

I just took out the Bomb King @ lvl 32-33 party, followed your route into Necrohol but the treasure chests aren't there. Is there a cutscene or some checkpoint I have to reach before the treasure becomes available?

Ok so back to the spear...what if I already opened all the chests? I went back today to get it and I can't find those chests anywhere, which makes me think I opened them already - which I don't remember doing, but it's possible. Am I screwed?

Oh and quick question, how much did everyone pay for the guide? They're charging me 20$ here and that's more than I've ever payed for a guide in my life, usually they're like 10-15$.
