Saw this movie on Monday, IMax 3d and I have to say.. wow. It was a good experience, and my first time seeing an IMax 3D movie. I have to say I enjoyed everything about the movie except for the very end, where the heroes just stare off into space on the bridge while looking mildly retarded.

Granted, the timeskip of 19 years ahead was pretty nice to see. Even though Malfoy looked like ass as an adult, it was still a nice segment and I like things like this so it got props from me.

How'd they do the ending? was it like the book? to be honest I wasn't all that thrilled with how the fight ends in the book. I've heard in the movie its a more straightforward "epic battle".

The final fight is more drawn out in the movie because the books presentation would've been too quick and boring on screen.

Good, I really didn't care for the abrupt, and I thought stupid, way that they ended it in the book.

I went to go see this on saturday, but the theater was packed even 45 minutes before the showing, so I didn't get a chance to see it yet.

To be fair, they couldn't have a real fight since the Elder wand belonged to...you know.

I really enjoyed the way they ended it in the movie. Seeing Snape's thoughts in the pensieve really explains (and I think Rickman should get some sort of award for this) why he did what he did. It's one thing to read about the pain of loss that Snape felt, and another to actually see it on the face of an actor who was just perfect for the role throughout the entire series. Epic ending to an epic series, now I'm gonna go cry cuz its over.

I was pleased with the movie, more than I thought I would be. On a 1 to 10 scale, I'd place it squarely at a 9. Understandable that some things from the book won't be in the movie, but I had at least hoped that one certain thing would be done right, which wasn't:

The final duel between Harry and Voldemort was supposed to be in the Great Hall in front of everyone. They could have still drawn out the duel (even with continuity error) and still done it in the Great Hall.

That being said, I was extremely pleased with the Battle of Hogwarts. The animated statues were epic, the dome shield was epic, the Death Eater bombardment was epic, the courtyard battle was...wait for it...epic. I think they could have used some epic battle music while the trio was running through the battlefield, but whatever. Dementors and Giants got pwned on screen, so I can't complain.

Overall, I'm happy with how it was and I felt like my childhood came to an end the moment I walked out of the theater. (In a good way.)

A note about the 3D: I think it was well done. It didn't strain my eyes like Alice in Wonderland did and it just felt natural. The Potter glasses were win as well.

Honestly, Snape's pensieve segment is one of the best scenes I've seen in recent film industry. It was good in the book, but something so emotional just has a bigger impact on the screen. I loved every second of it.
