I was gonna wait till the book actually came out to make this thread, but as I have already read the first two chapters, why not ^^

The book starts off very good in my opinion. Theres some interesting things we find out about people's past and stuff. Someone already died, though not a very important person.

Anywho, I'm so excited >< I'm just gonna have to hold myself back from finishing the book before it actually comes out.
 
I'm really excited about this too, only 4 days left though so it's not too long =D
 
Ok I've read 5 chapters. And I'm stopping here. Gonna wait for the book to come now.


But holy crap, the beginning of a book has never been this excited before. This book rocks already!!!
 
Did you get an advanced copy or something? How are you reading the first five chapters?
 
I'm about halfway through the book (don't ask, but I do have the actual book). I'll post my opinions when I'm done, and won't open this topic again until I am to avoid spoilars, lol. It's really awesome so far though.

My best guess is the shipments came in early, and people are taking the book then posting it on the net.
 
Yep. I have pictures of every page of the book. But its a bit of a pain reading from it, so I just read up to chapter 5 to find out who died. Totally saw it coming.

But anyway, this ain't the story of learning at Hogwarts anymore. Its turned into a full out bloodbath from what I saw >.>


Ok maybe not that extreme, but you get the idea.
 
I received a huge .pdf file from... let's say, a friend, that was supposedly the book. The pure length of it had me convinced at first that it was the real thing. The quality, however, made me think it was an elaborately constructed fake.

Then I remembered Half-Blooded Prince. I actually checked the front while I was reading it to make sure it wasn't some carefully disguised fanfiction (and bad fanfiction at that).

If the real book is what I received the the .pdf file, I'm going to fucking cry. IMO, Rowling lost it after book 5.
 
Celv, I also had a fake pdf file that turned out to be fanfiction. What was the title of the first chapter?
 
Unless you read it in the span of like, a day, that was the fake fanfiction that's been going around for months and month. The only real copy I know of that's up on the internet is just photographed copies of each page with the book lying on the floor.

Yep, thats the one.
 
First chapter is "Secrets Unravled." The fact that it's misspelled in .pdf should have been a givaway.

Even if it *is* just a fanfic, my hopes for the last book aren't high. I'm still trying to wipe the last one from my brain.
 
I'm about 400 pages in so far and it's.... very different and unexpected so far. I like it, looking forward to seeing how the second half goes and trying desperately to finish reading it before I have it spoiled for me like the last book was thanks for my job, lol.
 
from what you've read celv, is the fan fiction an interesting alternative?

Im actually interested in checking it out, can anyone tell me were i might find it?
 
The fanfiction is a horribly written pile of crap.

My left testicle could (quite literally) write better than the author.




I'm sorry for the harshness, but it's really bad.
 
I am only 5 chapters in so far. But I love it. Its the best opening a Potter book has ever had as I said. Its so cool, I can barely hold myself back from reading the rest.
 
A person in 4chan posted a .rar of the entire book. He/she took pictures of every page and uploaded it. The problem is it's a pain in the ass to read since the words are too small and the angle of the pages makes it incredibly annoying. I preordered the book, I can wait until then.
