I picked this up the other day, but haven't had much time to play it. From what I've played I liked it, Hogwarts is huge and there's stuff to do in almost every room. Tons of side-quests to do, my sister(a MAJOR Harry Potter fan) was geeking out when I showed her the room of rewards and everything that I could do. She then tried to steal my Wii so she could play it, but luckily I'm bigger.
Using the Wiimote like a wand is very cool and very easy to pick up. Flick back for Accio(pull), flick forwards for Depulso(push); Raise both your wiimote and nunchuck for Wingardium Leviosa, which you can then steer by tilting the wiimote/nunchuk around. Targeting takes a few minutes to get used to, but once you do it's easy to keep using. You learn more spells as you progress, you get them from actually attending the classes, I hear. As you continue to explore Hogwarts and accomplish tasks, you earn "experience" points, which will increase the power of your spells at certain points and will unlock things in the room of rewards.
About the only complaint I'd have is that the camera isn't always in the best place. They went for a cinematic camera, so whatever you're doing will look cool, but it's often not helpful for actually playing the game. I can throw the camera behind me with the C button so it's not a big problem, just the camera doesn't always stay there when I move around. The plot is a little condensed from what I've seen, but so far it's only skipped over parts where there'd be no actual game play anyways.
This is easily the best Harry Potter game out there, and definitely one to pick up if you're a fan of the series.
