Ok movie, the fight scenes were cool, but it was very boring after watching transformers saturday.

The movie was okay for the most part, and the scene in the Ministry rocked. My one main complaint is the pure butchering of the book. I know that they have to fit a lot in 2.5 hrs, but this was like random cut/paste.

I went to this HP movie with different expectations from the others because frankly its tiresome to hear the comparison of movie to book. The books will always be better.

As far as what was included in the movie, it was fantastic how close to the book they did come. The elements they did change to fit it into the time frame, worked amazingly well. I recognize the two formats for what they are, and of course the book can contain way more. I am just glad this movie cut out all the right things. Unfortunately, imo this movie also had some of the worst acting( perfect examples: gryffindor common room w/ Seamus and the Hogs Head).

If you have read the book recently, you can follow along and definitely notice the changes they did make, but its ok! You know whats going on! If you haven't read the books, the first 40 minutes will seem incredibly rushed.

*spoilers*
Ginny's reducto curse in the dept. of Mysteries was fucking bad ass, only to be obliterated later by Voldemort and Dumbledore. I will likely watch the whole movie again just for that scene =D.

Loved it, absolutely loved that part.

Going to see this today right after work!! ^^ I'm hoping its easier to swallow then the book was. :/

All of the HP books I've read in 6hrs or less ( i read fast shhh XD..) But when It came to the 5th book, i hated Umbridge so much that i couldnt get through the book. Her charater just pissed me off -.-;;. I finally finished it 5 months after it came out, because i forced my through it.

So ya.. I hope the movie is nothing like the book in that respect xD

Yea, I'm going to see this tomorrow. I saw Transformers on saturday (I wanna make sexy time with Megan Fox) and I'm hoping this movie lives up to my expectations. I don't need the same action or sex appeal that Transformers gave me.

I'm going to go see it tomorrow...should be good :D

Hey, it's either cut shit out of it or sit through a 6+ hour long movie. I know what I'd rather see. Do you?

I think they made the right decision in focusing on the scenes involving Umbridge and Dumbledore's Army, since those by and large were the central plot of book 5.

I liked it a lot, and the wizard battle in the Ministry was... AMAZING.

So I saw OoP last night :D :D It was amazing!! I couldn't believe how bad ass the ministry fight was!!! And I was happy to see Umbridge didn't get as much spotlight as she got in to book.

I have to say OoP was my least favorite book in the series, but definetely my favorite movie thus far! :D

Personally I was very unhappy with the butchering of the book. I can understand leaving parts out and making it shorter. The movie told a mostly different story.

*Spoilers*

Cho turning in D.A.
Sirius dying to the Avada Kedavra curse.
Harry seeing the prophecy in the Ministry not in Dumbledores office.
They had Ginny giving evil looks to Cho.
The way the Weasley twins left.
They didn't even make Ron and Hermonie Prefects.

Well i suppose the Ginny and Cho thing is because of the next book where Harry and Ginny get together...and Ginny had supposedly liked him all through the years.

Cho turned in D.A. maybe because they wanted to reduce the number of characters...though yeah, that does put her in more of a bad light than in the book ><

I havent seen it yet, but I'm going in 2 hrs!!

They don't even let you know that Umbridge is the one who sent the dementors after Harry.
I understand the Ginny and Harry thing but Ginny was not acting interested at all in book 5. She was actually dating someone else.

I can see where this would be upsetting, i'm a die hard fan of the books myself, but I've learned to take the books and movies as seperate stories completely.

The movies are more of a recapp/general synopsis of what happens in the book. due to time contraints etc..

the little details were my favorite about this book series, but you cant have them all in the movie because of the time/ and entertinament factor.. i think thats my view anyway.

I can live with stuff not being in the movie. Leave it out that is fine. To change it completely to tell a different story is what pissed me off about it. If time constraints are a problem then leave shit out but don't add shit that is completely different.

they've done that with every single HP movie since Book1... why bitch and moan about it now :/ ? It's something they have been doing since the start and its prolly fgna continue with the last two movies.. that is why its best to treat them as compeltely different stories with vague similarities.

One and two didn't change much. Three and four changed quite a bit and I did bitch and moan about them. Five was by far the worst with changing shit. I really didn't want to go to the movies. The woman wanted to see it. I said fuck it and took her since she wanted to see it so badly.

Ok... Harry Potter is like crack for me. I'm seriously going through the goddamn shakes because I haven't seen this movie yet. I don't care about spoilers, I know what happens. I know they'll do alright, even with butchering the book like that have in the previous 4 film installments (someday I aspire to kick Chris Columbus square in the nuts for the atrocities that are the first two movies).

NONE of my friends are going to see it yet. They're waiting for like, Sunday... That is FAR too long!! I WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! I may just go myself, but I've always thought people going to the movies alone was kind of creepy... idk... I may just get over it and go >.>

And bring tissues... ; ; Sirius.

Sirius dies and its done with. They made Sirius a very small role in the movie. It is like they put him in the movie just because he was a character in the story.
