Has anything really changed?

When I quit playing 2 years ago, I did so because the game had gotten stale and there wasn't anything new to do and because there was an incredibly high amount of time required to get even the smallest increase in preformance from the available gear.

As the topic name asks, has anything at all changed in the past two years? Are the kings still dominating in terms of gear, is sky still the floating hell we all know and despise? Does sea still have like 2 drops for each job? Did SE keep adding new NMs with either no drops at all, drops so extremely rare people aren't quite sure they exist or the gear they drop is just plain crap? Did crafting continue to decline? By my calculations, Scorpions Harness should be like 200k and Dragon Harness like 300k and yet are still top tier gear?

PS How in the flying fuck did they STILL not add Corsair Relic gear!?

New NMs were just added last week's update that have amazing gear. so far the first Tier of them seem to have a ~50% drop rate with no TH from what I've seen. Kings still though have some of the best gear, Sky is super easy, Sea is still the same. There IS COR Relic, and merits. Otherwise just in the past 2 weeks I have been remotivated to enjoy this game a ton, hope that helps.

I think SE really hit the nail on the head with their newest update, adding the Zeni NM's and the whatever-the-hell-you-call-em Sandworm monsters. When WoTG hit, it was very dull and basically only offered Campaign and... more Campaign, but they finally picked up the dropped ball and gave the players some more options. If you quit 2 years ago, you probably also missed out on Salvage, Einherjar, and Nyzul, which all offer some solid gear, while not requiring you to dedicate half of your life to camping a NM you might not even claim.

Er .. no .. there isn't. Unless you count the Nyzul weapons.

oops was thinking AF, yeah no relic.. but where would they put it amyways?

still time consuming though that has not changed

I feel the complete opposite. Only a few hours worth of missions after 8 months, awful requirements to complete Nyzul weapons.

Hey Acutie, I just came back after being gone about the same amount of time. From what I have noticed, mainly from reading not yet experiencing.. there is a ton of more options and things in the game to do. But, at the same time.. it would seem you would have to put in a lot of time to aquire the stuff you want. After all, they make these types of games to keep you playing. heh. The economy is insane from what I noticed. I kinda wish I would have sold everything I had that wasn't tied down. I would have been insanely rich right now. Crafting is prolly a joke at this point, but I am not too sure since I dont know yet on if there is any ballance. For instance.. tree cuttings used to be decent to farm for gold.. now they're 1k per. But a noble's tunic is 300k. An osode I seen for like 2.7m and I hear they go for lower. You can farm lady bug wings and npc 4 for 3k.. ninja tools seem to be that you can buy a stack of bags for what a bag used to be.

Thought I'd give the game a shot again. One hour seeking and no invites, most likely due to no Bards. So yeah, nothings changed.

ya coulda asked me mishy. i got a brd although i dont let her out much.

You confirmed a high ranking worry. I dont think I could handle the LFGs now that I've been on wow so much.

There's also lolcampiagn to pass the time. SE kinda did something to make it way harder or at least skewed whatever formulae determines a "win" and the main cities are taking a hammering atm so exp isnt as easy from that as it used to be( or at the very least it can get exponentially more painful).
It's actually pretty fun but if you're stuck doing it for too long it can get repetitive.

Well, it gets really tiring fighting the same NM boss twice... in the same campaign battle... and having everyone and their grandmother attack you in succession (Yaa Haqa > Dee Xalmo > Muu Buxu > Moo Ouzi > Shadowhand > Vee Qiqa > Shadowfang/Corse for instance...). After 10 hours of that I was exhausted. This is what the situation for Windurst Waters is anyway. Don't always see same boss but didn't see less than 4 waves each campaign.

EDIT: October... That's way too long to stay away >.<

Well if you go outside the city the exp is easier to get more so for melee and low lvl jobs. On Rdm campaign is easy because you can balance meleeing and healing very well meaning booku exp. Smn get a advange as well they can buff anyone even if there not in party. War on the other hand find alittle harder to keep myself alive, normally end up tanking alot and with no healing spells till I get /dnc up make it kind of diffcult to do defendsive battles, Offensive battles are nice though because you are hitting a fortifaction 80% of the time (think walls from lebros cavern psc assult). Other problem been having lately is lag simalar to the old besieged.

I don't normally stay in one place though, I'd wait in town until one pops and go through hopping around through 3-4 zones. But when the city is being constantly attacked, I can't do that >.> It's not really hard to get decent exp from the city fights, just tiring after dealing with Shadowhand every fight after awhile. The one time I did leave the city to do offensive, I think I attacked a fort too far from everyone else because Muu Buxu made short work of me... and subsequently everyone else.
