Has this happened to any of you?

I was on my lunch break and decided to pick up some pretzels at the grocery store before going to back to work. I get my stuff, and go towards the line, and let some seemingly old lady go in front of me. Then, I get in line behind her an she says : "BF right?" I went to Ben Franklin middle school, so I said yes. "Tom?" It starts to get awkward for me because I can't pinpoint who she is, I say yes, and we engage in small talk.

She eventually goes on her way but the point of all this is that it really creeps me out that people know me from that far back. I was 12 in middle school when she was my teacher...I'm 23 now. HTF does she remember me, nevermind recognize me after 11 years of age? This isn't the first time something like this has happened either h34r:

I can't say I really stuck out that much. The only thing I can imagine might have made me stick out is that we had a year-long project (yes in middle school) to do in the class. I didn't start it until about 75% of the year had gone by - she wasn't very pleased. Desptie that she handles about 150-200 students per year.

Teachers make a career out of kids. If you completed that year long assignment with only having 25% of the year remaining, that might stick out in someones mind.

Either way, chances are it's not a bad thing... there aren't too many little old ladies out there stalking 20-ish men.... it's usually old perverted men stalking 20-ish women.

Anyway, I don't think of it as something bas so much as something strange, and something I don't expect.

happened to me once with a elementary school teacher... they said "Your hairs realy grown(it was 2 feet longer than when they last saw me)... but you havnt( i was like 5inches taller max after 8 years...)" but we talked took me like 5minutes before i ask but realy wierded me out having no idea who the people talking to me were even though they knew about me well

Well I haven't ran into a pre-high school teacher but I did see the car salesman that sold me my car ~4 years after I bought it. Not only did he recognize me but he remembered my first and last name. It was kinda strange.

This has happened to me on more than a number of occasions. Unfortunately not only does it creep me out, its people I don't want to deal with for (I may have to plead the 5th on this one) type of reasons.
