Haste question

ok i was Pt'n today @ bibikibay, and this Rdm was haste'n the pld, thn the mnk, now i play drk and jst thought a slower DD would get haste'd 1st if any DD's did, now this rdm was doin fine, but this mnk (nameless for time being) started to be a dick beacuse i sent a /tell askn if he thought it was funny that he got hasted and not me, being's im the slower DD and TP builder. BAM he got all pissd, any way point i wanna know is WHO IF ANY DD'S SHOULD BE HASTED?, after the tank's
i'd thnk the slower of the bunch, how it has been for me in the past, over 60% of the time w/o askn.
any insite will be helpfull
 
My Haste cycle in order is Tank, DRK, DRG, WAR, THF, MNK, SAM in that order. MNK doesn't really need haste as much as a slower job in the DD side of things, and when I play as SAM I don't even expect to be hasted.
 
Both of you should reach 100% TP at the same time, barring misses, with no haste. It depends who the SC partners are though. If you and the MNK were going together you should have been hasted, however, the RDM may have noticed you reaching 100% faster than him and just hasted him to help him catch up.
Just remember, its a 40MP spell, and it doesn't have any direct returns to the RDM like Refresh does, so some people get a little weird with its usage. He was prolly just evening out your TP gain rate with the MNKs.
 
As rdm, I haste the tank (if the whm doesnt) or the lead DD (2nd voke)

As whm, I haste the tank (when allowed.. JP RDM's wont let me -.-) and 2 DD if the tank can handle the hate (Order: THF -> SAM -> MNK -> DRK -> DRG)

I enjoy having a hasted Thf, I can haste them no matter the tank. THF TP = SATA VB every chance possible = insane dmg.. SAM = huge TP, great SC's.. yes please.

Last PT I had a PLD (sucked.. sorry) Rdm, Cor, Sam, and War (I was whm)
I hasted the cor, sam, and war, and never once ran out of MP. The Rdm never once let me haste the Pld. it was fun..

I generally wait about 5-10 fights (a lot I know) before I haste anyone aside the tank to see if the tank loses hate, for how long, and why. Then I haste as many people as MP allows without cutting a chain short.

I explain too much but thats what I do ;p

Haste isnt to compensate for high delay, its to give the job more TP.

a correct haste order would be Tank MNK WAR SAM THF then everyone else is equal.
And haste on Samurai is the difference between 2 WS a fight and 3.
 
I haste everyone i can. Tank first of course then everyone else but i usually get everyone hasted before the first fight ends. If the RDM wants to help i usually say "Nah i got it"

If you have a well equipped SAM they should be the last person that you haste. TP for them is easy. THF normally will have such fast attacks that haste for them is really just to lower SATA timers. I've had much better results hasting the people that miss and have a big delay weapon i.e. DRK and DRG are the first I'll hit after the tank.
 
Dude, JA's arent affected by haste, spells only. Stop spreading wrong information.

MNKs don't really miss often enough to give them presidence over other jobs though, and how many hasted MNKs do you see with their back to the mob because they have too much hate.

I explained why I haste who I haste.. I don't care about "equal haste" when I have Sam and Thf, they will get haste. Why? Berserk + Tachi Enpi + Provoke + SATA VB = Distortion and a lot of pain.
Plus, a Sam can SC with any job rather well. So if you got a SAM SC'ing 3x per fight.. you're gonna get crazy fast exp. I will forever haste SAM if the tank can handle it. Monks are horrible for SC. They are just sheer solo WS for cray dmg. Without haste it's hard for a Nin to hold hate on one, imagine a Mnk with haste and a nin tank? >.> Maybe if you had 2 SATA lol

No, we're horrible for Distortion, not skillchains. There are many more chains than just Distortion. Brainwash ftw.

Actually as a SAM I was SC with a MNK for fusion and great DMG. Tachi Enpi isn't the only good WS for VB either. Tachi Kagero to VB makes a really strong Scission SC.

Not entirely true. While i was fooling around with mnk/sam i'd be able to pull off at least 2 distortions a fight with a thf who knew the drill, 'course i doubt you folks see too many non-standard job combinations these days, i played back when we could get away with things like that :/

But ... it's not like i have to tell you, of all people, how sweet it is to be a monk ;)

but yes i generally do haste ppl with longer delay weapons first after the tank, but if i notice one DD not getting TP as fast as their SC partnet(s) i focus on them. In my last party the thf asked me to haste him, and i asked if it affected SA and TA and he said yes, haste would help him a lot, so i hasted him. this party also had 4 DDs (party set up pld, thf, drg, mnk, rdm, whm)and haste isn't the cheapest spell, and i know it sounds unfair but if im low on MP i skip out on the mnk. why? mnks pull enough hate as it is -.- they hit any faster and the pld just becomes another healer.
 
a mnk with haste beats a drk with haste as the proc of kick attacks coming in more = more DOT = more exp/hr= happyier party
drk sure hit a bit faster but a mnk has some added stuff plus the mnk is bassed on all out haste (why u think 2hr is 90% melle 50% spell haste?)

Uh, they removed spell haste from Hundred Fists decades ago.
