So.. finally, after a long time of farming my ass off. I get 1.2 mil on my own. A good LS friend is quitting (Kincaide) and gives me 300k to help my hauby funds out.

Another LS friend (Trixztr) generously turns down the 300k he was going to receive from Kincaide and offers it to me instead. Well now im up 600k and Yahoo I finally have 1.8 mil.. which is what I recalled the Hauby's price being.

After I finish up my farming for the day I head to Jueno and check the AH. 3 Haubergeons are up! Great! Check the price history and they are 1.9-2 mil now.. WTF!!!

So now im pissed.. but since there are 3 up I give it a shot anyway and put my bit for 1.8 mil up. Denied..

I'm not completely upset, angry yes, but not fully upset as I still have an astral ring to sell and the LS mates I did the BCNM20 with decided it would be best if I just keep the gil from it instead of splitting it like we had originally decided.

Well the ring hasnt sold yet, and I log on today.. all 3 hauby's that were up yesterday have been sold.. God dammit I will get this freaking thing!!!!

I haven't leveled for months just to build up the gil I need to buy it so that I have it when I do level, and now There aren't any. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

I'm so pissed.. so long have I fucking been farming, and my god its so boring to farm.. but I've forced myself to do it just to get to where I was and now that I finally have my goal, i can't fucking get what I wanted just yet.

*screams* That is soooooo fustrating!

God damn you Haubergeon piece of crap!!!
 
I'm sorry to hear that Ecks, and yet is seems we are hearing it more and more. I guess the only easy solution to these problems is to constantly check the price of the item you are saving for. Yes, it will still suck watching the price rasie on you, but at leat your aren't caught off guard when it comes time to make the purchase.

I will say that seeing these posts can really discourage a beginner like me. I mean whats the point in saving for a high quality item, only to find yourself competting with such horrible inflation?

I felt the same way when I was trying too figure out how I was going too get Raise III before they decided too come out with new ways too get it. Seriously I think they should make shops sell all of this stuff and just let AH be a place too find the stuff cheaper. No need for taxes and should really screw over gil sellers and people that enjoy raiseing prices. But thats just me though.
 
All I can say is dont worry about it till you get there. From your sig I can see you've got a ways to go before that point. So enjoy it up till you really have to start working for that extra stuff that makes you a real badass.

I'd really personally rather get a hauby +1, but id be farming my ass off for several more months before that ever even became close to a possibility and I've waited quite long enough.
 
I believe two of those up are mine... If it makes you feel better I break even on successes for them, but I've also blown up 4 damascus ingot, so Haub's have been a MASSIVE loss for me.
 
Well Ecks I plan on making a post in the BFII forum about getting some BCNM going. I either have a little over 300 or 400 seals right now just taking up space in my mog safe. I'm in the process of trying to farm several mil myself. I'd be happy to have you come along. I just need to research which ones are best for monks and warriors (since those are my highest job levels).
 
I appreciate the thought Kurgon, and if any of my jobs coincide with the lvl of bcnm you're doing, id be happy to come along, ive got about 120 seals left.

So.. now ive got a little over 2 mil and there just happens to be 1 hauby up at the AH.. but guess what.. some greedy fuckhead put up that hauby and I can't buy it even for 2,000,001 gil. The hauby's only been selling for 1.9 - 2 mil for the past who knows how many sales.

Now some damn moron is raising the price even more. It just isnt needed! That idiot should fucking go die somewhere.

Tiya.. I dont think it's your hauby that's up.. as there is only one up at the current moment and it's price is over 2mil. I'm sorry you don't make much a profit off them. I dont exactly make a profit from buying it either and ive spent so damn long just getting the gil I had from farming that it's making me sick. I can't begin to thank my fellow LS members enough for helping me out as they have the past few days.

Whoever's hauby is up in jeuno, should fucking die right now. Greedy ass bastard.
 
Ehh if it is still up for sell when I get home I will send you some money. You can pay me back at a later date.
 
Dont bother sending me gil Kurgon. Though I appreciate the thought. I'm not going to buy this greedy fuckheads hauby, i'll wait till one is up for 1.9-2 mil, that's the price range i will buy one for. More than that is just rediculas.
 
Reminds me of my scorpion harness hell. When i was close i BCNM60ed and someone had dropped one of the good items accidently. lost like 200k. So glad i can level now, once i finish school ><.
 
Ouch, I feel your pain >< I was going to be stuck from lvling for a while for this, but I had a great friend(Lanien, thx!) loan me a million, thats right, a million gil so I could buy it and continue lvling and pay him off later.

I suggest trying BCNM 60 in Sacrificial CHamber, I made 1.5 mil to pay off lanien from that ^^ Good luck with your hauby.

Good luck on getting your hauby. You might want to try posting something in the AH forum and see if any other QCDN users will sell you one directly - you're saving them the 40k AH fee by buying directly like that.

I'd give you tips for getting money for it... but I honestly have no idea how I managed to get enough money for mine >.> All I really did to get money was fish up moat carp >.>

Though I did manage to get an O. Kote to sell to a friend for 500k. Heh, it was funny... got Mee Deggi and got the drop about 5 minutes before the gilsellers arrived. I got to laugh at them the whole time :D
 
I am saving for my hauby at the moment also. Hopefully the price wont jump up too high by the time i have the gil. But good luck to ya.
 
I bought my Hauby today, thankfully I didnt have to wait too long for another to show up on the AH. Though I was hoping not to have to spend a full 2 mil for it.. and well I didn't really anyway. I got it for 1,999,999 gil. Still it was within what I was willing to spend on it.. and im glad I got that out of the way.

Even got into a little party a bit later, though I wasn't able to stay nearly as long as I wanted. A friend came over and took me out to the movies, his treat, so I couldn't refuse, besides.. he's going back to Iraq on the 10th gotta spend time with him while he's here.
