And in all seriousness, really, relating to the topic of discussion, its just frikkin' shouting. If you dont like it, do what you've got to do and blist like crazy. Personally, /sh doesnt bother me in the slightest. Hell most of the time when people are /sh like crazy, theyre usually saying some pretty funny shit. Not everyone has to be a hardass in the game. It is a -game- afterall, meant to be fun. And I can understand that perhaps someone flashing random things across your screen can denote from your personal fun, thats what the blist function is for. Its there for a reason, afterall. Why are you singling out just chpal? Im sure many of us have shouted a few things in Jeuno. And seriously. 200 people were complaining about it? Were that the case, I think chpal would've gotten pulled into the GM's Dungeon and had a nice talking to. Since that doesnt appear to have happened, it seems youre going a little overboard with all of it. Fact of the matter is, tons of people do shouts in Jeuno for various reasons. Be it to spam or to sell something, or just to say hey to a friend and maybe theres communication errors with /tells. Ontop of that, you already blisted him, so whats the point of dragging him onto here to flame the shit out of him with a more or less moot standing? Maybe if you took a look at what you've been saying, you'd realize how idiotic it sounds.

Congratulations, everyone is fully aware of how much of a dicknose you are. I guess youre one of those 'I take my game seriously' types. Maybe you should settle down and learn to enjoy it a little first. Maybe play around, do a couple of stupid shouts, see how fun it can be. Someone gives you hell for it, tell 'em to fuck off. I would say that for me, I felt like it was enough of a distraction, and the text was going fast enough, that it made it much more difficult for me the read party and linkshell chat. As for the + and enter, true but then I can't read them both at the same time. And yet again, I might miss an important shout.

I would you agree are probably less noobish than the others if you simply came in at the last minute and shouted a few times then left. Just about anyone is less noobish than Konartist, maybe even Malakai. I blacklisted everyone who was spamming at the time of my accessment, and you were on my last, but I don't really remember how much of it was you, simply that you were part of the conversation and in essense perpetuating it. It's just a warning that I blacklisted you because of it, and others did too I know for sure.

And yes people shout sometimes for various reasons, but seriously, a drawn out flame war in lower jeuno over shout? He's just getting the axe because he came on to defend himself. I'm also under the impression that the people who do shout don't consider the reprecussions. Pretty much anytime I come into Jeuno my screen is flooded with Kanji shouts. I dont complain. Hell I cant even read Kanji, but that doesnt make a difference. A shout is a shout. Whether its us 'bad' NA players, or the oh-so-superior Japanese players. Everyone does it is my point. If you want to blist, youre more than welcome to it. Im just saying its not always the answer and shouldnt be your first line of defense in such situations.

I never said Japanese are superior and I never said they don't shout. I did say I read lots of posts and I hear a lot of in game comments about the Japanese not responding to people's tells and I'm simply throwing it out there as one of many other possible reasons.

That being said, I hate shouts, but I rarely /blist people. I feel guilty having a group conversation with people in /says (because I'm already part of a party). I just get annoyed but there's nothing I can really do about it. Like it seemed to happen here, I might just catch a good player on an off day and in that split second I shall pass judgement on them on that limited period of time. I see both sides of the argument here, but as Chpal has also said, he rarely shouts, and I've had encounters with Firestreak before and no bad memories come to mind. I think this is just becoming repetitive now. So in the advice of Firestreak....

I have to agree with Palum. I have only one person on my /blist, and that is because they kept sending me /tell's and would not leave me alone. Sure shouts are anoying. If I am not looking for a product or service I have a mental block against the shouts. It could all be written in Kanji for all I care, I just don't see it. But hey, that is just me.
