This is why celebirties create an unrealistic standard of beauty. Under the make-up and photoshop, they're just regular people like us.

Or the chicks on the Italian channel... talk about :shock: . Seriously, its like they just found the pretties women they could, hoped that they could read, and put them on the news... doing sports.

But yeah it does promote an unrealistic depiction of what beauty is or should be. Thats why you have young girls starving themselves because they look "fat" and by fat i mean like 5 lbs. overweight. Trust me, that aint fat. That's padding in the right places.

It sickens me how you will see in the news, stories of how a lil girl starved herself to death only to be followed by a quick piece on the latest fashions that are "cool" "hip" and "trendy" which are being paraded around by what can only be described as "walking mops with dresses on".

And another thing, am I the only one unimpressed with the "waif(sp)" look? A woman who weighs 80 lbs. soaking wet, with a brick in her pocket doesnt turn me on. What happend to the feminine form that actually looked, well feminine? For a while there have been images thrust upon us where women looked like boys, and thats almost all we were given.

lol Sorry for the semi-long post, its just that the "image" of beauty and how its portrayed in the media annoys me to no end.
