Does anyone know if Healing Waltz takes off amnesia? A DNC is a dead duck in the mire if not.

You can't use Healing Waltz while under the effect of Amnesia, as Healing Waltz is an ability. So yes, DNC are a dead duck against imps. Why you'd want to exp/merit on imps in the first place I don't know.

And no, even if you could use Healing Waltz while Amnesia'd, it doesn't remove it. Doesn't remove Doom, Petrify, and Amnesia.

Because they are actually good EXP in the mid-late 60s?

This. ^

If I remember correctly, I was getting 350+ XP per kill without band when I took my pld through there. This was like 65-70 maybe.

Yes, but they're not that great. Amnesia is highly annoying, and their defense/damage/evasion is rather high at that level. 350exp/kill isn't necessarily a good thing.

But they have crappy HP to make up for all that.
Things that are excellent to merit on at that level, all of which are excellent exp spots spots, but for some reason rarely used:

Puk Trap
Nival Raptor
Puk (admitedly, annoying)
Defoliator
Carmine Eruca
Colibri
Tragopan
Magmatic Eruca
Date Eruca
Gobs
Catoplepass
Nippers and Puggs (in Zhayolm)

Some of which can be used 67-70 as a transaction area, before moving to the more classical "merit spots", and also making imps easier.

You don't need help making imps easier, lol. You can head there 66-67 or so and just totally plunder the zone assuming no one else is there "meriting" or whatever those lvl 75 dumbass pts call their xp sessions out there. Please don't tell me you're going to turn this into an argument when there are obviously times you would want to xp on imps. Just for once please admit you're wrong and don't go on for 20 pages trying to fight to defend your original incorrect statement of "Why you'd want to exp/merit on imps in the first place I don't know."

- Ha, trying to get someone to exp somewhere other than Aht Urghan is like asking someone to get a root canal.

- Puks, you already found a reason why some people don't like exping on.

- I hate how Erucas can one-shot a tank with one TP move. Not to mention they get Meditate when it's Fiery outside, so your puller can also bite it.

- Colibri steal food and TP.

- Nippers and Pugs do seem like a good idea though, and I just found out about that camp about a week ago. The last two you mentioned, I feel neither for nor against them.

Now I can't say I prefer to exp on Imps, since you can tell I've never been on the front line to care much. But Imps are right outside of Azouph, and they're easy to get to, but I personally am willing to go to a regular (Bibiki, Uleguerand, sky, non-ToAU) zone as long as the exp doesn't suck.

Of course these are all my opinions.

Imps suck a lot as DNC, COR, and other heavily TP-dependent jobs. You don't want to exp there with one of those in the party, for example. And no, I never said you should never exp on imps. I said THIS:

Yes, but they're not that great
I agree, I like imps, but in some situations there's much better camps. And in EU times that I play on, JP's tend to dominate most popular exp camps. Its practically impossible to counter-camp 2 lvl 75 merit parties through nyzul, or the 5-6 at Azhoup, during JP prime time. 3 imps in a row and them waiting 5 min for repops that you might claim as if you're camping Fafnir is just not worth it. Yes, if no one else is there, it can be good. But you're acting like its the end-all exp camp 67-70+. There's plenty of good exp spots. Have everyone forgot where they used to exp before ToAU?

I didn't realize you can merit before LV75, when the hell did we get that memo. On a more serious note, I still enjoy Bibiki Bay every now and then at these levels for EXP POINTS.

*shrugs* I would merit in wotg areas, but only because I am sick of the aht urghan merits, and I don't merit too often anymore anyway.

I said "merit spots", as most exp spots 70+ are also used for meriting.

I was one-shotted so many times by Incinerate it's not even funny. I hated exp'ing on crawlers with a passion.

I tried to get some people interested in Nippers and Jagils at Mt Zhayolm a few times, but no one ever went along.

I've never ran in to too much trouble with Incinerate =/ Sure, I prefer Nippers and Jagils, but with Barfira I've mainly seen it as wasting MP.

Edit: Well, I did have one party where the tank died almost every friggin' Incinerate, but the WHM sucked that party.

DNC can do fine on imps, they just can't be relied on as a main healer for a PLD or something. They can top people off after amnesia wears off while the other healer can do more of the spot healing when people are in need of immediate care.

I've seen a couple JP dancers try and use throwing to TP up and sub WHM which I think is a little ridiculous. I'm fairly certain daze effects aren't applied to a monster from a ranged attack though. Steps are also really the best way to get TP so gain would be extremely slow, as well.

maybe DNC/SAM would be "decent" in this situation, lol. /ra from afar, and meditate to get TP. Although meditate would only really get you enough for 3 Curing Waltzes anyway =/

Speaking of which, can DNC ever really be relied on for main healing solo post-40 anyway?

They need to make Amnesia eraseable. Is there any way for players to amnesia a monster?

Don't think so. If they ever do make one, it'll probably be as sucktastic as Jettatura ~.~ And it will likely be for BLU. Probably from Rafflesia. Although it'll likely be Seed Spray from those, as the BLU animation for it is already in the game =( Any other ToAU mob that does Amnesia?

DNC can main cure just fine post 40. They need a backup healer though. You also need your melee not to be taking obscene amounts of damage if you want to avoid downtime (though, that is pretty much the same for any healer, no? Just dancer doesn't have a way to regenerate TP without fighting).

As far as for merit, I don't know. It really, REALLY sucks not having haste though (the WHM/RDM version). Probably like RDM or WHM, BRD + 3x heavy DD. Let the melee go all out in terms of sub and damage dealing. That or DNC,BRD,+2nd BRD or 4 melee with blink tankers. We'll see I guess..
