lolz. I bet I can. I haven't been able to get on for close to 2 weeks now. Thats 2 weeks that its been on basic care, with no walks, no food, and no...nothing. I figure thats what it's gonna look like when I get back on. rofl

Basic care has no negative effect on affection though. It also automatically gives your chocobo minimal food.

Basic Care does have a slightly negative effect on affection. It is good to hear that it gives it minimal food. I still think Z End will be in a shit condition after I get back. Nothing a few pastes and a Celerity Salad can't fix, right? lol

Of the 20 days or so my Chocobos been an adult, it's been love sick for 12(8 days straight, one day break, 4 straight in the current lovesickness.) All while playing with children/chocobos, and acting in plays/digging. I'm sure your chocobos affection is fine if it took two weeks for mine to go from Parent to Not Care.

Oh god. My Chocobos gone Goth.

rofl, maybe it can fight an emo choco. Hopefully the outcome of that fight won't be disappointing.

I read (of course, on alla...yeah...laugh) that, at the risk of harming your choco, giving it a cupid worm in cases of extreme affection loss (such as yours, skaw). I'm not entirely certain it'll work, but its worth a shot. Of course, you could always just keep feeding it grass (not wildgrass, the other kind) and raise its affection again.

My choco's the victim of child neglect! (its a baby still)

ROFL! He has coffee...wait...why? Is it a metal chocobo? Metal!

I was going by the Southpark definition of goth. All those kids did was drink coffee.

True, drink coffee and smoke...and dance kinda. I'd like a black chocobo...that'd be sweet. Only way to get that...and good stats is breeding...which could take up to 4 months...

"Chocobo breeding...cuz sometimes you just feel like getting your bird laid."

Really? But my choco is like always starving whenever I check him. He's under basic care.
Does this mean my Choco is a fat slob? ; ;

Be glad your chocobo hasn't the lost the will to care about you D:

Oh dear Elpon! You are king of the Goth Chocobo's.

I know I've told said this already, Skaw, and I really wasn't just pulling it out of my ass. The idea that you can't raise (or maintain) affection with lovesickness, or any illness, is a misconception. It's just not true.

I'm entering perhaps my tenth or eleventh day with that status ailment, and I've had literally no trouble keeping a "regards you as parent" up ... I mean, today it dropped to "wants to be with you all the time," and two gysahl greens took it back up.

If you're really making an effort to keep the affection up, it should be hanging in there just fine. I've noticed that while the stat-raising food is kind of piss-poor for raising the "normal" stats, greens are extremely effective in keeping affection up. As long as you're not dwelling too heavily on carrots, it should be fine.

So, either your chocobo has had something else wrong with it all along (other than today, of course, with all those negative effects), you're neglecting affection altogether because of the misconception that you can't raise it, or you're just plain beating the little wuss into the dirt.

Stop forcing it to drag its feathery ass across Vanadiel to deliver messages for just a single day, and turn to a diet of greens for a couple of days. It should recover very rapidly. The fact that stat-raising is gimped with low affection to begin with should more than justify losing out on the boosts from the other care plans and food for a while.
