Hellgate london

this game is my husbands new obsession
 
I'm still hammering on it.
My Blademaster is almost lvl 21 and the action really does keep getting better as the game progresses. I just put a GeForce 8600 GT in my rig and noticed that this game above all the others I currently have installed benefitted the most.
 
hehe, do you think it's worth getting? :P even with the adware thingy? (I hates adware)
 
I've seen maybe half a dozen ads that are based on RL products. I completely forgot about that whole thing until I read your post just now.

I started as a blademaster but apparently you can't do 1st person view with a sword... took me 19 levels to clue into that. I restarted as a marksman and summoner, respectively 23 and 18 now. I still think my favorite class is evoker (their grenade is PIMP) but summoner might get ridiculous once you hit 25 and can summon the blood lord or whatever he's called.

I feel a lot of repetition in the early levels. Not enough to keep me away from the game, but enough to notice. My marksman just hit the Tower of London level so I'm hoping for an atmosphere change there.

I think cabalists get the best looking gear so far. Templars have some fancy stuff too though, a lot of detailed gold trim. Shame you can't do 1st person with a sword... I'd probably still be on my blademaster if you could.

Hell yeah, it's worth it.
As far as the adware thing goes, check the official site, they denied it to be anything adware related.
 
I wouldn't pay for it, but definitely a fun game to waste time with.
 
I just picked this up a couple days ago. So far I'm enjoying it. I've gotten stuck a couple times where I landed in between wreckage and couldn't move so I had to quit the game, which would then restart me at the last station I visited. Other than that level 9 Evoker kicking some undead arse.
 
Evokers are pimp. So far I'm not too impressed with summoner, though it is definitely relaxing as all you really need to focus on is shooting boxes and barrels while your pets kill everything for you.

I'm having a few troubles since enabling DX10 though. Jumping occasionally causes page flips, where everything goes brown or green briefly. Also I can no longer enter the exospecter (for the mission in Puddle Dock I think); every time I try to, it crashes to desktop. Worked fine on DX9 in Vista64.

Aside from that I've gotten stuck a couple times and had to restart as well... it seems they're all about patching multiplayer but the singleplayer just kinda gets to suffer. However they claim the invisible partner patch is now gone with the 0.6 patch which was probably the biggest nuisance I've run into thus far.

Forgive me for sounding retarded, but how do you guys play? I found myself not even using my gun for my first several levels as an evoker. It was just there because I apparently can't cast w/o one.

I dual wield spectral weapons. You can still use magic when you have 1 handed weapons equipped. I couldn't use magic when wielding a 2 handed weapon. Now I have Spectral Lash open so I only use the guns when I'm low on mana.
 
this game is pretty fun. Doesn't feel like Diablo to me, exactly, but still fun. It's more fun if done with a friend:P
 
I finally got around to getting this game the other day. I.. am definately liking it so far, and I havent even done multiplayer yet with some friends of mine.
 
Can anybody give me an update on how this game runs now that it's been out for a few months now? Any good content added since release?
 
I honestly haven't played it in a month or two.. but im still paying for it at the moment.. so who knows.. i may hop on and see what's up.
 
Me and Runekane been playing for a few days. Made a summoner and he made a marksman. Must say, for now normal is super easy.
